So didn't see anything about this, but since the last patch I've noticed that ever single 'Future Great' youth rider from a custom team creation or scouting all have very low attributes, <55 in all categories but they still have 6 star possibly progression in primary or many categories.
Compared to 'Promising' youth rider that have a mix of higher attributes. Also I believe in the previous patch I remember having a 'Future Great' with a couple 70's in attributes with the 5-6 star progressions. Can't be sure because just picked up 2012 a couple days before the newest patch hit so started a new career since I had just started anyway.
As the name implies they are future greats not current great so it sort of makes sense. But just seems FAR to standard to me so wondering if this is how it's supposed to be or is this a bug? I mean technically its not a true bug as long as they can still progress to high attributes, but it's really annoying to have a ride that's all but useless early on especially when playing an ultra low Continental team (0%, 40K rider budget).
So any thoughts or opinions? Maybe a different DB changes this?
I am pretty sure this information is not in the DB but in a file called youngridercharac.xml or similar. Also I doubt that this is a general problem.
But there is a problem with the estimation of the talents of the riders in the game, for example the scouting in the game can be totally off even when hiring the best scouts. So maybe it was just bad luck.
You could have a look at the real potential of your young riders in the save. Open your save with an editor and then open the table called DYN_cyclist and look at the column value_i_potentiel. "Future great" would be 8, everthing lower is worse.
