Alright guys its a bit early but I thought I might as well go ahead and make a thread for the United States team for the World this year. In this thread we will talk about who will be attending, where we can watch it, and our predictions for Americans.
If the USA holds their spot where they are we should be able to take 9 riders with us to the Worlds. So here are my predicitions (when the actual roster is released this will be updated to include the actual roster):
Duggan
Vandevelde
Van Garderen
Farrar
Busche
Horner
King
Phinney
Pate
Let's be real here guys. The Americans only real chance of a podium is Van Garderen or maybe Duggan. But lets discuss guys! I want to hear from other Americans!

Danny Pate would be a better choice than Duggan, Vendevelde, Busche, King, or Bookwalter.
And Phinney as well.

Only 8 Americans have scored WT points so far, so the max. team size is currently 8

Yeah, but with Danny Pate as a helper it could happen |

Why do Americans get their own thread? They haven't even got a realistic chance there.
Is Hincapie still going to be racing for the Worlds?

Anything can happen, but I think he's done. He wanted to finish the Tour and then end his career with USA Pro Cycling Challenge in Colorado.
As to why we get our own thread: you are more than welcome to start your own thread about your country. I started this thread because I am an American who wishes to see this sport grow to more prominence in this country.
And Duggan is a very under-estimated rider. Before the USA Road Championships I would have never picked him, but he surprised not only me but many people by winning the way he did. Who knows what the Americans will do to surprise.
And woops I forgot that only 8 had scored. I was just assuming that since we were in the top 10 of the Nation standings that we had 9 who had scored but I guess not.
And as for Pate: I can't believe I forgot him haha. He would probably go in place of Bookwalter.

How is making a thread for your won country on a cycling game forum going to bring the sport to more prominence? If there are any Americans reading this, they'll be cycling fans already.

As some others pointed out, this thread is quite useless. There will be a world championships thread when we get closer to the race, in which you'll be free to discuss the American (or any other) squad as much as you want to.
Thread locked.
