What we know about who is gonna show up is :
Contador
Froome
Van Den Broeck
Henao
Uran
Anton
J.Rodrigues
T. De Gendt
Injuried riders who will try to make it:
S.Sanchez
A.Schleck
-----------
If Schleck makes it i dont think he will be motivated or in great enough shape to make a great ride.
I hope to see some very deadly duels between Contador and Froome. Maybe Rodrigues and Vand Den Broeck kan follow them a bit. But i think when Contadors launches the 900 wattages attacks, then he will destroy them. Gonna be exticing to see how far Froome will be able to follow him.
1. Contador
2. Froome
3.Rodrigues or Vand Den Broeck |

Quintana will also ride the Vuelta. But I think Contador will win with lengths.

I think there's a solid chance of Gesink and Mollema participating too. This should make a good field, together with the aforementioned names. |

Agreed, that i think and hope Contador will win by lengths and hopefully SPECTACULARY.
I hope that he will compensate for all the lack of attacks we missed in this years TDF.
I hope he will be as hungry as The Cannibal Mercx. I hope he will try to destroy and make all his spectacular attacks and everyone will drop. He will consolidate his comeback by showing who is the greatest Tour talent ever.
For the sake of excimentness i hope Froome can follow Contador, and then Contador will crack him at the last couple of kilometers.
Wilier it would be good to see Gesink and Mollema in top form. Especially Gesink. |

A bit early to have a thread but I also see a Froome/Conta duel, and a result that will sadden me but hopefully captivate too.
Note that these predictions are all assuming these riders will participate.
1. Froome
2. Contador
3. Rodriguez
4. Henao
5. Anton
6. Cobo
7. De Gendt
8. Van Den Broeck
9. Zubeldia
10. Mollema
Sprints are hard to predict, I think if Argos gets a wilcard then Kittel should win a stage or two for sure.
Ang guess who for the KoM, Moncoutie!

If true it would be very nice. Then we will have a larger and stronger mountain field compared to this years TDF.
If Nibali goes there then it would be perfect. He has stepped his game and level up a notch this year, and has a fantastic personality. He is most welcome.
I dont think Cobo can do anything. I hope that Valverde will participate and continue his upgoing form. In Contadors last Vuelta win, Valverde was the only one to follow Contador on the climbs. |

Is Van den Broeck really riding? I didn't know that.
The mountain stages will be fun.

Fun indeed it will be. At least it will have to be better than the Tour. |

I dont see Froome beating Contador. If he can do that then Froome will have to find a completely new mountain level that havent been seen before.
And all PCM's DB's should change him to 87+ in mountans
I think VDB will be 4th. I dont see Anton or Cobo finishing before him |

Yes he has just stated that he feels in very good shape, and he is not exhausted or tired. That is very good news. And he did attack and use himself way more than Froome did, so i do suspect that Froome also will have a lot of energi and stamina, and be in excellent shape.
Miguel98@ yes i do think the mountains will be way better and more fun compared to this years TDF |

That's assuming Contador would be at his 2010 or pre-2010 level, not his 2011 one. That's a bold assumption.
If Contador is at his 2011 level, or even worst for him : below, he stands no chance against Froome, provided, once again, that Froome has his TDF level. |

Although I know Conta will be in top-form, I think not riding a pro race for 12 months will affect him and the level Froome was riding at Le Tour makes me think.
Conta must be a favourite but I am predicting a Froome win.

Teddy Contador did ride in the beginning of this year, and the end of last year. Its like 6-7months max without racing competition.
Not 12 months at all. Thats why i dont think he is affected by the quarantine

Contador still rode races at the beginning of the year. Even winning the Tour of San Luis with ease. So it's only 6 months really. Seeing as he prepared for a full season, his winter should have been good, which is the most important part in preparing for the new season.
The only thing he doesn't have is race rythm, but i don't see that being much of a problem.

Argos is already in, amongst Caja Rural, Andalucia and Cofidis.
Degenkolb is peaking for the Vuelta, and Kittel should have a go as well if he's healthy again.
I really await some sprinter's participation confirmation, but one of them should definately be with the best on any flat stage.

do remember he dominated the 2011 Giro with ease
that was partly why he struggled at the TDF, fatigue
also his 2010 level was doped so i doubt he'll be there, unless he is a colossal idiot

The number of attacking climbers and mountain finishes should make it a firework. |

Argos will be going for Degenkolb. Though this could chance since Kittel didn't get to ride much at the Tour de France. They might select him too.
I expect Geniez to be riding too. It could be his shot to attract some interest from big teams.
