ITT
Logan Hutchings, Hayden Godfrey, and Timothy Gudsell are the 3 big favourites. Hutchings perhaps has an added incentive as he does not currently have a main PT/CT team and is riding for Perutnina Ptuj.
Gudsell never looked strong enough but Hayden Godfrey did, leading after the first checkpoint. Hutchings was 5 seconds down, Gudsell 11.
Godfrey still led at the 2nd checkpoint but was only 2 seconds ahead of Hutchungs now, with Gudsell 13 seconds behind.
Godfrey beat Gudsell by 13 seconds at the finish, but Hutchings came in quicker, taking victory.

Julian Dean and Gregory Hendersen must surely be the favourites today.
Godfrey, McCauley, Gudsell and Vennell were dropped early on and 30km late, Senesi, Roulston, Hutchings, Kerr, MacMaster and Cooper had been detached.
Allen also fell away leaving 4 men: Blackgrove, Reid, Dean and Hendersen. Logan Hutchings then broke off from the chasing group in pursuit of the lead 4, they had a minutes advantage with 100km to go.
With 92km to go, Blackgrove and Dean broke away from their 2 companions, who with 80km to go, were caught by Hutchings.
Dean and Blackgrove's advantage over Hutchings grew to 2 and a half minutes, before, with 60km to go, Blackgrove attacked and got a 1 minute lead! Hutchings was still soldiering on and caught Dean with 27km to go, only to drop him 4km later.
It took Hutchings 10km to close down Blackgrove's 50 second gap and on one of the final hills with 10km to go, Hutchings went solo. He would go on to win and become the National champion! Blackgrove was 2nd, while Fraser MacMaster caught and passed Dean in the final kilometre for 3rd. There was an interesting battle for 10th, with Godfrey just outsprinting McCauley.

Perhaps doing the double will help Logan Hutchings to find a team for 2009. He has also taken 4th in Stage 5 of the Tour Down Under, earlier in the season - while riding for PCMdaily - Jobs.com.Edited by Roman on 17-10-2016 19:48
