The Moscow Stars are a group of young talented Russian riders with strengths in the hills, time trials and on the cobbles. I will try to keep the story realistic by recruiting only Eastern European riders and aiming for financial assistance from Russian sponsors.
Here are the goals for the Moscow Stars team for 2007
The most imposing to me seemed to be to wear the sprinters jersey in the Tour of Malaysia so i decided to try to sign a couple of sprinters in the pre season trade period.
I was successful, they are:
Jure Kocjan
and
Sergei Koudentsov
without further ado, here is the full team.

An important race for the team as the sponsors have requested a stage win to keep them happy. In order to complete this we are sending our strong hilly and sprint team for the 3 stage race.

A hilly stage to begin the tour where we are looking for a stage win and it begun with a break of 4 riders escaping. Foder of Designa Kokken easily took the first sprint.
the biggest climb of the day began and one of the breakaway riders fell back to the pack while Foder, who was obviously having a good day was able to able to ride away from his companions to take the KOM points. He also had a 30 second gap to the two chasers on the descent with the peloton a few minutes further back. He continued his strong form increasing his gap over the 2 to around 1 and a half minutes as he took the next climbers points. On the flat following this climb the strongest team in the race Rabobank Continental began to up the pace as they formed an arrowhead at the front of the pack.
The two in the middle were eaten up and then Foders legs went and was dropped from the peloton immediately after they caught him.
Edvald Boasson Hagen, who was the main favorite for the day attacked on the last small climb of the day to get some climbers jersey points.
Yuri Trofimov, our leader for the race sensed that the pack didn't have much left in it and attacked with 11km to go, pumping a big gear.
He was feeling good and was moving quicker then the pack, with 4km to go he had 40 seconds, surely the victory was his. And it was, the pack lost more ground on Yuri in the last kilometres as he claimed a fantastic victory for the team.
Skil Shimano was controlling the pack and Hagen was too far back to make the ground up on the sprint after the hills. Who else would get on the podium?
It was L'Hottelerie from his teammate Xu with our young signing Kocjan taking Booms wheel to finish 7th
Tromifov now leads overall as well as the young riders and points jerseys while Foder leads the Mountain Jersey after his dominating performance in the break.

Interview with Yuri Trofimov after his victory.
Interviwer: You must be really happy to start so well in the teams first race for the season.
Yuri: Of course its fantastic for me, not to forget the team, at this rate we'll be promoted to the Pro Tour with no competition.
Interviwer: Err yes I'm sure you will if you win every race you enter, is it true that your sponsors considered this a very important race?
Yuri: Yeah thats right, seeing as though we've only started our calendar in march they wanted an early success to get rid of any doubts that we'd be able to provide them results.
Interviewer: Thanks for your time Yuri, good luck with defending your overall lead.

Another day in the hills for the team whose objective today would be to protect Yuri's overall lead which could be a task as the team limit was six riders, and not all of our guys are strong in the hills so needless to say we would be looking for some assistance from the strong teams, particularly Rabobank Continental.
Stage 2
Our strategy today was to to no work for the better part of the race and so we let a break of 4 go who looked strong and were working well together, all had finished in the main bunch the previous day so they only needed more then 1.08 to take the leaders jersey.
The 4 were being chased by a couple of groups of 2 and 3 who didn't seem to have the legs to catch up but as their lead grew nearer to the old 10km for each minute I told a couple of their guys to start to bring them back and they worked fantastically as the break's advantage melted away.
The break were taking themselves pretty seriously today and didn't want to waste any energy so they shared the spoils around with Chainel of Auber 93 taking the first mountain sprint uncontested and Schilde of Sparkasse would be allowed to take the second.
Our guys on the front were beginning to struggle so I radioed our leader Trofimov and asked him to tell the Rabobank boys to get their arses in gear. He must be pretty intimidating as it had an immediate effect which was good for us but disastrous for the break.
Yuri was once again feeling good and decided to try to recreate yesterdays win with Klyuev on his tail to help with the sprint.
Yuri was to strong for Klyuev who couldnt stay with him but he was assured of victory, with 4 kms to go he had 40 seconds on Klyuev who was 30 seconds of the front of the pack. Yuri defended his jersey in fine style, claiming his second stage of the race.
Klyuev hung on to finish second while Fuglsang of Designa Kokken was the best of the rest to came the final podium position.
A great day for the team but a disappointing day for Hagen who was once again the favorite but no where to be seen.
We now hold 1 & 2 overall while Trofimov still leads the points and young riders competitions and Fomden still leads the climbers competition. Moscow Stars now hold a convincing lead in the team rankings.

The team would be hoping to repeat yesterdays performance in order to keep Trofimov in the lead and to retain Klyuevs second place.
We again let a break go, today it contained seven riders who got a maximum advantage of eight minutes on the pack.
We put some guys on the front and, like yesterday it was Korzh who began to turn a high gear and eat into the breaks advantage.
Fredrik Johansson was unchallenged for the first mountain points but it was Cedric Pineau who attacked to claim the second lot of points.
Things were working nicely until about 40 kilometres to go when the wind kicked up and a group of 7 riders, including 5 Rabobank Continental riders who had again been working hard, broke off the front of the pack. Lars Boom who was 6th, only a couple of minutes behind Trofimov so I got on the radio and told the whole team to get on the front to bring them back, even second place Klyuev was working for his leader.
The group of seven was pulling away so we changed our strategy, Klyuev attack with Trofimov on his wheel to try and bridge up to the Rabobank Continental group which was still around 3 minutes behind the original break who were still looking strong.
Thanks to Klyuev, Trofimov easily made the group quickly began to eat into the advantage of the break.
Owczarek of Sparkasse, 24th overall +2.38, had dropped his breakaway companions and was going for the victory while meanwhile the pack rejoined with the Boom/Trofimov group.
As Owczarek's, being chased by two of the other escapees, lead was pulled back to 0 seconds i told the team to relax and stop working, we would keep the overall lead and so Owczarek claimed an opportunistic win for Sparkasse and two of the other members of the breakaway took 2nd and 3rd.
Due to technical problems i cant post the final results but Trofimov took a convincing win in the GC while Klyuev was pushed down to 3rd after Owczerks fantastic win.
Trofimov takes the points and young riders competitions, Fomden takes the Climbers jersey and Moscow Stars win the Team Classification.
A great first outing for the team which could hardly have been more successful.
