Danilo Wyss leads the riders onto the first cobbled section as Franzoi punctures!!
He doesnt lose any team but is right at the back of the field now.

3 almost simultaneous punctures!
Gord McCauley, Andrew Randell and Ghader Mizbani.
The peleton splits after the cobbled section into 99 and 38. As he was at the back of the pack, Franzoi is amongst those 38!

The pack comes together before the next cobbled section which involves a steep climb, and a steep descent.
After it all a group of 17 leads, followed by a group of 15, then a group of 90something. The group of 90 something is led by Landbouwkredit and Letua as Merihaeghe and Hammond have been caught out! (So has Franzoi, but Marco Polo dont seem to care)

The lead group becomes 22 as they drop 5 (Including Usov) and have 1'36 on the LandbouwLetua led group.

22 becomes 21 after a non-cobbled hill as Vogels is dropped. LandbouwLetua group is down to 60 and has failed to make any inroads, despite ctaching the 5 mentioned in the previous post.
The lead group had DFL, Designa Kokken, Wiesenhof, Orbitel, Tinkoff and Nippo riders, plus Max vanm Heeswijk.

10 men are working to chase down the 21, while only 3 are trying to keep it away and the gap drops to 1 minute.

The next cobbled section is a climb which reaches 11% at times, with a less-steep descent.
And everything comes back together!

"Here comes the dreaded cobblestones, I know several riders who would rother be at home in front of the telly"
Wise words of wisdom from the american commentator.
Designa Kokken's Muravyev attacked on a non-cobbled hill and has a 1-minute lead by the next cobbled section.

Slipstream's Brad Armstrong falls and Stephane Poulhies punctured. Both have already lost a lot of time though.
Hammond and Meirhaegh are pl,aying an odd 'game', coming forward on the cobbles, onto to drop back again on the flat. Its a risky game if a split comes.

A 6man group including Hoste, Franzoi and 4 other Wiesenhof riders momentarily gets a gap after a tough 11% cobbled climb. They are soon reeled in though.

We spoke to young Belgian, Kenny Geluykens, before the race and he told us:
"Im really glad to be riding for the PCMDaily-Jobs.com team and I hope that getting a top 10 finish will help me get a Pro contract for next season"
He has just punctured. Twice. In a row.

Muravyev still holds a 2 minute lead with 50km to go, ahead of a group of 29. The biggest names missing from that 29 are Vansummeren and Wrolich - although there is still at least 1 Orbitel or Tinkoff rider in the group.

Hoste only holds a slight lead over Mattan who only holds a slight lead over Hammond, Franzoi and Meirhaeghe. One of these 5 will win the race.
Meanwhile, Ghader Mizbani and Igor Abakoumov crash.
