Are you talking about the "own team" feature at the start of a career? There the rider values are based on their skill and age, so look for the old or young riders if you want some cheap riders.

If you are talking about the contract negotiations in the career. Then just look at the list of riders with have a ending contract. I am pretty sure that you can sort the list accordingly.

Either really looking at making a team just wondered if there are any gems out there for cheap and can take on the big boys.

In terms of riders I've had success with Tiabult Pinot, Eddy Boasson-Hagen and Peter Velits. The first two are young while Velits brings more experince. Velits and Pinot are climbers while Boasson-Hagen is a good sprinter and classics rider.

TTers are very cheap because of their low average and can give you some great GC results in flat stage races with a TT.

Apart from that, all young, talented riders (Pinot, Cattaneo(!) etc.
They might be a bit overpriced in the first season, but if you give them 3 year contracts, they might be world class in 2014/15 and won't cost you more than 10000€.

tony artin costs me around 26000 euros a month. pretty good I´d say, though sometimes I´d wish he´d be a better climber
