Okey, I have played for several years but are most used to the old versions where if you did a good job, your team was yours for another season, while if you did a crappy job or the economy was screwed, you were fired and offered 3 other jobs.
The thing is that I can't get the sponsor thing to add up. I thought the contract with my team was automatically renewed so when I came to july/august and could not sign a single rider, I understood something was wrong. Trough the roster profile I found that it was because of lack of sponsor for the next season. I could not renew the contract with my current team either, so therefore I tried search for other sponsors. The only opportunity open for me was low status sponsors which was okey for me, cause I didn't achieve any really good results trough the season.
I first tried to scout sponsors in Andorra, Phillippines, Namibia etc. just for fun, but when I didn't get any offers from those countries I start moving to more realistic countries like norway, portugal, colombia etc. No offers there either. Then I started searching in the u.s, netherlands, australia, but still no offers. I didn't manage to get a single sponsor thoug I felt I scouted the whole world.
So my question is; is this because I started scouting too late in the season (Mid-august), or because I had too poor results that I didn't attract interrest from other sponsors?

You surely messed it up (ever heard of "manual"?) but with great support from Cyanide.
There are several problems concerning the sponsors:
1. You cannot prolong the contract with your current sponsor (should be fixed with the lasted patch, so try this)
2. If your bank account it below zero, you cannot search for good sponsors. (At least it was like this in PCM 2011) So you might have to cheat money onto your account to continue your career.
3. Cyanide most probably forget to add sponsors of the lowest level for most regions. So there are just no sponsors to be found.
I never heard that sponsors look at the teams performance but even if they do, there should always be a backup.
If nothing helps, then you can modify your career and edit a sponsor into your career. This has been explained in the pcm 2011 forum before, search for value_i_sponsor_future
Hmmm, thanks, from what you say, it seems to me that it is most reasonable to assume that it was because of my account was owerdrawn. The funny is that it was owerdrawn BECAUSE i searched for sponsors. But anyway, thank you for the help Lachi. So it doesn't matter which time of year you search for sponsors?
