I have the spanish version of PCM and of course the damn thing won't run. I have downloaded the latest patch but for some reason I can't extract the file to the PCM files.
I get this message:
access denied
unable to create output file "C:\Program files \Cyanide\PCM .cxe
How do I solve this, bearing in mind that I'm only half-bright when it comes to computers? |

uhm. strange. do you have very little disk space free? that might be a cause of the problem. then again, with such a generic error, a heck of a lot of things could be the problem.

uhm. how about firewall, anti-virus, etc.
also, emulation software screws up the install. that's Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120%, etc. basically anything that installs a virtual drive. as long as any of that is installed (doesn't even need to be running), it MAY screw it up. MAY. it's not guaranteed that it will.

I removed all emulation software and then , of course , started getting the activation key nonsense. |

Simplemente por saberlo e igual nos das alguna pista, ¿versión CD, descargada desde la página de Focus, bajada...?
Just curious and maybe useful so we can find a way to solve it: which version? the CD one, downloaded from the official retailer, from another place...? |

that's a pretty screwed up situation there
I'm afraid I have no idea. I'm sorry.

Fantastic! I've managed to install the patch. Now I get the message:
Error
emulation software has been detected etc. etc.
I've already removed any software that is or could be linked to virtual drives, nero , iso and so on........ so why in the name of bleeding Jesus it still doesn't work? Emule? Bitcomet? Dvix player? |

Did you check that no virtual drives were still present? |

open "My computer" or whatever it's called in whichever language you have windows (you never know ). look at the drives that are there. there should be the physical ones (your CD or DVD driver), and any others you might have, like a DVD writer, etc.
any extra ones that don't PHYSICALLY exist, are virtual.

I went to 'my computer' or in spanish 'equipo' screen which obviously shows the hard drive and DVD writer. There were 4 other drives which I removed by 'modo seguro', roughly translated, 'safe option' and then re-booted the computer. Still no joy. |

Maybe there is another way to remove them permamently? When I re-boot, these same 4 drives pop up again. |
