Database: | PCM.Daily 2012 DB | Race difficulty: | Extreme | Financial difficulty: | Normal | Development of attributes: | 0,5 |
I'll wait for the Daily DB to be released before getting this started. Due to exams coming up soon, don't expect regular race updates before August though.
But tune in again for team presentations and season previews!
My personal goal is to keep the team at least 3/4, possibly completely African.
Let's be the first African team at the Tour de France!

Reinhardt Janse van Rensburg is without any doubt the best African rider in Continental Tour (all Chtioui fans might kill me now ).
He's as versatile as it gets, and he'll seek his chance for a win everywhere, on hard mountains, steep hills, in Time Trials and in mass sprints.
Especially in .2 races, there is no opponent too strong for Reinhardt.
Arran Brown tries to feature in bunch sprints for us. He lacks the speed to keep up with CT's very best sprinters, and any hill hinders his chances quite a bit, but there are still plenty of opportunities in .2 races all over the world.
We want to give him as much freedom as possible, although there might come races he has to help Reinhardt when he looks good in the points jersey competition or if time bonuses come handy.
Dennis van Niekerk is our oldest rider, but aged 27, what does that mean? There's no need for him to just be capitaine de la route, when he likes the mountains more than anyone else on the team.
If our race invitations allow us to, he will be on a different race schedule to van Rensburg to maximize our TV presence, but we don't quite have the needed depth in roster, so important season goals should see both of them supporting each other.
Jani Tewelde is our first stage race talent. He showed promising potential in local races, and we look forward to him racing against better opposition. His sprint could become a weapon in small group sprints as well.
But first, he'll be a luxury domestique for Reinhardt and Dennis.
Tsgabu Grmay is a very similar rider to Jani Tewelde. He likes it when the road rises. He's only 20, a year younger than Jani, and if they progress normally, we'll have lots of fun with them!
As soon as the road goes uphill, Jacques Janse van Rensburg should be the last man for our leader.
If his help isn't needed, he wants to be amongst the best in the KOM classification.
Adrien Niyonshuti is the current national road champion of Rwanda.
He won the race for the second consecutive time, and his beautiful jersey is definately worth the effort.
His specialty are hilly races and time trials, but on an international level, his abilities might prove to be too weak to make an impact.
Nevertheless, he'll do the best he can to raise awareness for his country and our cause.
Lotto Petrus didn't win the Namibian NC in a lottery, but through hard work.
He is the 2012 road AND TT champion, beating well-known Dan Craven on both occasions. We rate him about the same strenght as Adrian, so we don't expect huge results.

Awesome idea!
Good that it'll get going in August because I return from my France-trip in early August!
Can't wait to see the team in TDF |

Thanks to all, I hope I can justify your expectations
@Teddy: Yeah, he's definately one of my first targets
@valverde321, Miguel98: I already wondered why noone chose this likeable team yet.
It's important to know that Qhubeka is a voluntary organisation which gifts bikes to children in rural areas to make them care for the nature!
(f.ex., if kids plant a small tree in a water bottle, they are given a bike for free, more than 40.000 times already)
@Ian: That's a very good timing
@Freitas: You're not John McCain, are you?
Thanks, that should guarantee me success then.

@Avin: That's what I always do at other stories as well. Thanks
I hope I can get dave92 (RJ van Rensburg) and SN (Grmay) to join the riders fanclub as well
@Tsmoha: Yeah, it's great! Very nice to hear that from you.
Updated the team presentation further, and with the addition of our national champions to that list, I repeat my request for the Namibian NC jersey of Lotto Petrus.
2011:
2012:
I don't care which of these, and it definately doesn't have to be perfect, but if there's any jersey maker with a bit of spare time and an interest to see his own work in a story, it'd be very appreciated

Thank you KenL, they are pretty nice. If noone does the new jerseys, I'll use them. (they are convertable to 2012, I guess?)
Still, there's about a month left until I need them, so I'm open to anyone having a go at the current one.

I wanted to do a story on them as soon as I got PCM2012. But my house got struck by lightning and my pc is completely stuffed! Like the idea a lot.
Also, don't underestimate Niyonshuti! He's an excellent mountain biker and he proved he's very good at altitude and on big climbs in the Tour of Rwanda! His fighting spirit should at least be 75! He really is tough! Did you know his family and I think 6 of his brothers were killed in the Rwandan genocide! He was the only survivor in his family! Really sad story, but amazing at the same time.
