The teams first race of the season, a one day race with biggish hill at the start with only a few speed bumps on the relatively flat run in to the finish at the end of 177km.
Our team for the race:
Clements Fankhauser
Jan Valach
Jochen Summer
Michael Pichler
Stefan Rucker
Stefan Denifl
Tomas Konecny
Wolfgang Murer
Jochen Summer is our main chance as he is an above average sprinter but he will face stiff competition as there is a strong contingent of top level sprinters in competition, the favorites are Tom Boonen and Robbie Hunter.
Benitez Roman began the standard attacks and was quickly joined by 6 other riders, including one of the two Stefans on our team, today of the Denifl variety, and together they began to dig in to try to get a sizable advantage on the pack.
As usual the break wasn't to be and was pulled back into the fold a way before the finish line, however the action wasn't over yet - Zabel musn't have felt like he could take the sprint today as at about 10km to go he attacked with Saunier Duvals Bertogliati (not pictured).
Zabel had a 15 second gap to the pack with Bertogliati 17 ahead of him but the pack seemed confident and began to wind up the sprint. Summer had a great position on Boonens wheel who was being lead out by De Jongh.
Bertogliati wasn't quite strong enough and was caught within a km of the line. Boonen, with Summer on his wheel still had 3 Milram riders to get around would he have the form at this early stage of the season? and could Jochen follow?
You Betcha! Summer faded a little in the last 100m but did fantastically, beating the likes of Hunter and Zabel to finish 5th behind a dominant Boonen.
Final Results (screwed this up so ill hand type the top 5)
1. Tom Boonen - Quickstep- 4h15'18"
2. Lorenzetto - Milram - s.t
3. Ongarato - Milram - s.t
4. D' Amore - OTC Doors - s.t
5. Jochen Summer - Elk Haus Simplon - s.t
Strong by Boonen and Milram but a great performance by Summer to take 5th
sorry it took so long setzel

The teams second outing of the season is another 'hilly' classified one day race but this time we should see someone who is stronger in the hills claim the victory.
The team:
Christian Pfannberger
Harald Starzengruber
Marc Weisshaupt
Markus Eibegger
Stefan Rucker
Stefan Denifl
Tomas Konecny
Wolfgang Murer
A relatively strong team for us but I am slightly concerned that neither of our guys who are decent in the hills (eibegger and pfannberger) can sprint for nuts so unless they can get off the front we can't really hope for a great showing in the standings.
(Report will follow shortly, would have done it now but really needed to go to the toilet )

The race at Sharm el Sheikh began again with a break as Cornelison and Vandenbergh starting a series of attacks that resulted in a group of 12 riders being formed, today it was Tomas Konecnys turn to go and get the sponsors some exposure.
The usual break-chase scenario play out with the group going out to a lead of 6 and a half minutes before the peloton began to wind them in, the attacks began before the penultimate hill with Lars Boom taking Allan Johansen's wheel as he tried to bridge up to the leaders.
With around 2 minutes still back to the pack with 36kms to go Konecny was feeling good and jumped out of the break to attempt to solo all the way to the finish.
Realising that he had no chance in the sprint and was running out of slopes Pfannberger followed his teammates example and attacked but he didn't have it today and was quickly pulled back into the peloton.
Konecny was joined by 4 other riders and with 5km to go they had 34 seconds as a crash in the peloton put a few riders down.
Tomas didnt have it today and you could see the disappointment on his face as he was caught by the sprinting peloton.
The sprint was in full flight now and Liberty's Barbosa had a small lead over ljungvist and bak from CSC as well as Popov from Rabobank Espoirs with our boys nowhere to be seen, would he be able to hold it to the line?
He could, and took victory ahead of Ljungvist and Bak with Popov hanging on for fourth in front of Lagutin.
Again lost most of the results but Pfanberger and Eibegger finished 17th and 18th i think.

Interview with Christian Pfannberger following the Grand Prix Sharm el Sheikh
Interviewer: Were you happy with your performance today?
Christian: Well obviously I would have liked to get atleast into the top 10 but there was nothing I could do after my attack got pulled back in the hills, everybody knows I'm no good in the sprints.
Interviewer:You have an unusual name, do commentators often get it wrong?
Christian: Yes I have to say they get it wrong more often than not and i get a few "fannyburgers" but its not as bad as some on the boys, Weissy (Marc Weisshaupt), for instance has it much worse then me.
Interviewer: Er yes ofcourse, I think I see some of the CSC boys, thanks for your time Christian.
