When I first started the game, I had no problems. But then I started download real name databases and patches and tried to do as stated in the downloas section; rename the file and place it in databases. However, I replaced it with the allread existing file. Is that wrong? For appearently I have fucked something in the system, as every time I try to go in to the single player section, or to load a career, the game freezes and a windows message pop-ups with "Pro Cycling Manager has stopped working."
The weird thing is that both Track Online and Armada Mode seems to work fine, I just have this problem with the single player mode. I have tried to both install the game over again, in addition to delete the game fully and re-install, but both times I get the same message.
So, if anyone know what on earth I could have done wrong, please give me a hand Edited by Bjartne on 22-06-2012 07:47
sounds odd and unhealthy. You shouldn't need to rename anything to install a custom DB. It can just go into the 'C:\Users\USER\Documents\Pro Cycling Manager 2012\Mod\Database' (or similar) folder and then be selected in-game, in the options menu.
In reinstalling the game, you may not have over-written/recreated the default DB file. If you're using a corrupt/screwy DB file, this might explain your problem.
I would check the above folder that I reference and report what's inside. You could try deleting the files in there and putting the default DB file (find it here: https://pcmdaily.c...p?did=843) in there instead. Then, run the game and see if you can get to the configuration menu to select the Official DB.
Failing that, look at the Documents/ProCyclingManager2012/Config directory and find the Options.xml file. This points to the default DB to use on start-up. If edited (i.e. if you selected a different file in the menu) it will have saved it here. It should read as follows, to use the default file:
