With Audi leading a very mixed starting grid, I think the race will be open for the first couple of hours, before the Audis start dominating and cracking the opposition down.
For me, the obvious favourite is the #2 car with McNish / Capello / Kristensen, although they'll have to do some work to get in front from 4th on the grid. Also, #1 Audi (last year's winner) should be interesting to watch.
So far, IMO biggest loser of this year's edition is Mike Rockenfeller, 2010 race winner and previously hailed huge talent, but now with all the driver changes, I'm not sure he and his car-mates have the necessary composure and team spirit.
The cars I'll be cheering for:
LMP1: #2 Audi
LMP2: #42 Zytek-Nissan, driven by Brundle/Brundle/Ordonez
LMGTE Pro: #51 Ferrari 458 driven by Fisichela/Bruni/Villander
LMGTE Am: #99 Aston Martin Vantage driven by Nygaard/Poulsen/Simonsen
Any other Le Mans enthusiasts?

I think that Audi will dominate. There are no Peugeot's, so their biggest challenge are probably going to be the Toyota's. But we'll see, because it's Le Mans and everything could happen. |

And we're under way. McNish already in the zone! |

Ferrari drivers should get their eyes checked. Last year, they caused 2 Audi crashes, now this one. |

I know amateurs are necessary to endurance, etc. but solutions should be found about them.
I hope the remaining Toyota will manage to last long enough. Planning to stay up all night, so it'd better be worth it. |

Hit the DeltaWing (Nakajima at work...), then pit to repair the rear wing and extractor. They're 3 minutes down or something now. |

16 and something hours to go and Audi just need to drive the cars, gently, towards the finish line. At least the LMP2 and the GTEs are fun. |

To stay up and watch or not? The only downside is the fact I have school on Monday... |

Nothing too serious though, bodywork job to do, but they won't lose more than 5 minutes in the pits each.
Slight podium chance for Rebellion. |

Nothing too serious? Tell that to Tom Kristensen and all the Danes who were ready to celebrate another victory |

I wonder how good the mechanics are who just don't get a lot of sleep at the evening and manage to do pitstops as fast as at the first hour.. Also fix stuff in minutes which some car service stations want to have the car for several days/weeks and want 500 euros for that
And too bad that Nakajima managed to punt the DeltaWing out..
The DeltaWing is just amazing:
They ran the trainings on just 1 tyre set and after 3.5 hours at the race, they didn't feeled like getting new tyres because they hadn't issues with them..
Also they could catch up with the LMP2s without any wings, but a lot of the downforce came from the underbody..
They were restricted with the speed because the organizers wanted them to be safe
Too bad that design wasn't taken by the IndyCar organizers..

Yes, I was pissed off too afterwards. But then again, as the Eurosport commentators said, Kristensen never had a second place on Le Mans. |
