After Save Races Are Empty

Many years ago I bought Pro Cycling Manager, and thought it was a fantastic game, but there was this weird problem. When I'd load a saved game, the game would start a day after the day I'd saved it at and all the races would be empty, with no riders and no results.

I crawled around various forums, sent emails to Cyanide (had a response but it was no help and when I told them it was no help but there was no response), but the problem was never fixed. I eventually gave up.

So last week I saw Steam was selling PCM 08 cheap and I thought it wasn't a big investment and surely I wouldn't have the same problem, but no. I have exactly the same problem with this game, even though I have a different computer.

Does anyone have experience of this problem, and any idea how to fix it?

Thanks very much I'll give it a try. And yes I'm in New Zealand too. It never occurred to me that it might be because of our timezone.
