To my knowledge, RadioShack is our main sponsor. As such, it is my one goal this year (and in all future years) to make them happy with our race results and the team itself.

Goals

Spoiler

The Tour de France route this year may not suit either of our main GC riders in Andy and Frank Schleck, but that doesn't mean we can't improve upon two of their secondary goals and go for the pink in Italy and the orange in Spain...

Squad

RadioShack, like dienblad, may be happy that we have a rider like Fabian Cancelarra on our squad, but they most certainly are not happy about the lack of riders coming from the United States! With only a small handful of good riders emerging from the States, it is imperative that we start scouting the region ASAP!

We have the same deal with Nissan as we do with RadioShack. It is our goal this year to reach all of the objectives they have set for us.

It's a good thing we have plenty of good climbers, and even better, a half-man, half-machine bike rider to target some of Nissan's objectives for us.

They want us to sign some riders from Japan. Okay, we can do that -- our sprint staff could always use a boost.

Leaders

Fabian Cancellara

Spoiler
i50.tinypic.com/2u44oki.jpg

Fabian Cancellara is arguably one of the greatest time trialers and classics riders of all-time. We will be relying upon him in the classics this year. If he performs well, the German-Speaking rider from Switzerland can expect a contract extension heading his way.

Andy Schleck

Spoiler
i45.tinypic.com/1ytouq.jpg

Andy Schleck, the winner of the 2010 Tour de France, is one of, if not the, best climber in the world. Unfortunately for him, however, the 2012 Tour de France doesn't really suit his skillset. Expect to see him ride the Giro this year, along with Liege-Bastogne-Liege and La Fleche Wallone. Even if he performs terribly, he will be extended!

Frank Schleck

Spoiler
i45.tinypic.com/2d8pc9h.jpg

Frank Schleck, the second piece of bread that makes up the Schleck Sandwich, is one of the best riders in the sport. He will be targeting two of his favorite races this year: the Amstel Gold Race and the Liege-Bastogne-Liege. The latter with his brother Andy. To round out what is expected to be a spectacular season, Frank will ride the Vuelta and aim for number one overall.

Protected Riders

Andreas Kloden

Spoiler
i48.tinypic.com/2li7n1w.jpg[/img]

Once the workhorse of Jan Ulrich, Klodie is now one of the best riders on the RadioShack Nissan Trek team. Using his tall, skinny frame to his advantage, Klodie is able to place high in the overall classification in Grand Tours. However, his career has mostly been plagued by injuries. He'll be targeting three of his favorite races this year: the Tour de France, the Tour de Suisse, and the Tour de Romandie.

Chris Horner
i46.tinypic.com/2lm49is.jpg

The best American rider on this year's RadioShack Nissan Trek squad, Chris Horner, is an old man as far as cyclist are concerned. He's been a professional since the late 90s, and he's never once placed in the top five of a Grand Tour. He looks to change all of that this year, however, in what could be the last year of his pro cycling career. He will be accompanying Andreas Kloden in the Tour de France, Tour de Suisse, and the Tour de Romandie.

Jakob Fuglsang

Spoiler
i45.tinypic.com/epndjd.jpg

Jakob Fuglsang, twenty-six, is one of the better riders on team Radioshack Nissan Trek. However, his accomplishments and riding ability have been overshadowed by the younger Schleck. Since neither Schleck will not be riding in the Tour de France this year, is it possible that young Jakob can finally establish himself as one of the American teams best riders? His main objectives for this season are the Criterium International, 5 Jours de Denkerque, and the Tour de France. "My goal is to leave my mark on cycling, and return to RadioShack next year to repeat what will be a great performance in 2012" -- Jakob Fuglsang

Linus Gerdemann

Spoiler
i48.tinypic.com/2cervc5.jpg

The winner of the 2011 Tour de Luxembourg, Linus Gerdemann is one of the stronger riders on an already very strong RadioShack Nissan Trek team. He will be targetting a repeat performance at the Tour de Luxembourg and will be aiming for a top twenty finish in the Tour de France. He will also be one of Germany's many esteemed riders representing the Deutchsland at the World Championship.

Haimar Zubeldia

Spoiler
i46.tinypic.com/1puj2d.jpg

The great rider from the Basque Country placed 15th overall in last year's Tour de France. Unfortunately for him though, he won't be riding in the Tour de France this year. He will be assisting Andy Schleck at the Giro d'Italia, and will rider the Il Lombardia in September with the hopes of being #1 overall.

Maxime Monfort

Spoiler
i47.tinypic.com/27wwyh2.jpg

The twenty-eight year old star from Wallonia-Brussels will be assisting Frank Schleck at this year's Vuelta. Since Monfort is a great climber and an even better time trialist, he could be a dark horse candidate to finish top ten overall. On his own, Monfort will try to win the Chronos des Nations and the World ITT Championship race.

Yaroslav Popovych

Spoiler
i49.tinypic.com/5x62j5.jpg

The handsome Ukrainian's star has faded with age, but he's still one of the better domestiques in the business. He will be assisting the Schleck brothers at the Liege-Bastogne-Liege race, and will aim for the King of the Mountains jersey at the Paris-Nice race.

Everybody Else

I updated the second post of this thread, providing information about the team's sponsors and their objectives for the season. I hope to have an update ready, describing the roster, very soon.

Just to be clear, I will only be playing UCI-Ranked races and Sponsor Objectives. All other races will be simulated, but I will provide you guys with results from them.

Sorry for the slow updates. I've been busy with other things. I updated my third post in this thread to give you details on my leaders. I hope to be updating that post with information on my Protected Riders and Luxury Teammates soon.

Oh, and guess who will be going for the GC in France? He's probably one of your favorite riders (actually, three riders will be going for the GC in France!)!

Stirner
Okay! I got everything I wanted to done! Time to start playing for real now!

Next up, Santos Tour Down Under!

Is there a way for me to see the stage favorites before loading the stage?

Eden95
Not that I know of, but you can look at the startlist and kind of guess, or load the stage, take note of them on the loading screen, then when the race starts pause and write them down, or something like that.

Brunyeel's Thoughts

There's not a lot to say about this stage. It's mostly flat, with a few slight elevations, but there isn't anything to write home about. Our goal here today will be to join the breakaway in the early going and secure some points in the King of Mountain competition. If we can't do that, expect us to try and tear the peloton apart on the final climb with Jens Voight, our leader, to set Bennatti up for the final sprint.

Results are forthcoming.
