Hi guys,
I've been playing PCM 2007 for years now and always resisted upgrading because games almost never worked on my old laptop. I've got a new(ish) one now that might run a later version of PCM. Can any of you give me an educated guess at whether I might get PCM 11 to work? Or PCM 2010?
My lappy:

I don't think so, you need 2.2 Ghz CPU, yours has 2 Ghz, don't know how much difference this will make but.....
Same for 2010, 2.2 Ghz Minimum

There is another thread about the same question and there, everybody said that it should not be a problem if only 0.2 GHz is missing.

The thread mentioned by Lachi above ^ was created by me seeking the same advice, and having recently just bought the game. I know how you feel!
My laptop specs were equal or above the min specs except for the gHz - where I was 0.9 gHz off the min required. However, having received the game today, it works fine and does not lag/stutter at all!
I'd say go for it!

It will work. ma04hew confirmed it works on his laptop which is missing minimum requirement s by 0.9 Hz, so 0.2 will not make any difference whatsoever on the system.
Really any good processor by Intel from last 5 years that doesn't make requirements of this game should work anyway as there's more to it than just it's speed in Ghz. Also some have automatic over-clocking which improves it's speed when needed by 0.3 up to 1.0 Hz in come cases.

I only have integrated graphics though, won't that be a bigger problem? Or can you turn the settings down enough? |

Sorry, I did not check the specs before, because I though fjhoekie checked them and only found a problem with the processor.
The information about the Intel graphic chip are not enough to judge its performance. You could run DXDIAG to see get info about the graphic. (ALT+R, then type DXDIAG, then press enter).
Here are the minimum system requirements: https://www.cyanid...amp;t=8355
And they explicitly note that "INTEL GRAPHICS CONTROLLERS LOWER THAN GMA X4500 ARE NOT SUPPORTED" |

Don't forget, if you have integrated graphics it will reduce the amount of RAM available to run the game, so if it does run (I personally don't know if it will, integrated graphics cards are always very hard to judge) it is likely to run fairly slowly.

you are probably going to struggle beacause of the graphic card. it is not designated for 3d gaming.
you may try to test it with pcm08 demo (as far as i know the latest demo version released by cyanide) and see how it works.
requirement hadn't changed that much since 2008-9.
Demo for PCM 2008 is available here:

It really depends on your budget. Could you evaluate how much money are you willing to spend on it ?

The 2008 worked no problems (besides the track race being impossible to win for me!) so I'm gonna try 2011. Wish me luck! haha |

2011 works! Thanks for all your help guys!
Because of my lappy and all the forums moaning about the game's bugs, I've delayed getting a new PCM since 2007 but WOW has this game improved since. I find the track stuff a fun side-show and the graphics, and general feel of the in-race experience is superb by comparison to my beloved PCM07 |

5000 NOrwegian croins.. (probably around 500 pound I think) But as cheap as possible and I can still play. Good grafic is a plluss (publicum and grass, wood, cities etc. But can play without it.
Approximatly only. Can buy some expensier if that is much better / what it takes.

Chillblast Fusion Elixir £599.00
Intel Core i5 2500K Processor overclocked to up to 4.6GHz
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Cooler
Asus P8Z68-V LE Motherboard with USB 3.0 -B3 Revision
8GB PC3-10666 DDR3 Memory
ATi Radeon 6850 1GB Graphics Card
1000GB SATA 7200rpm Hard Disk
650watt EZCool PSU
This thing would run PCM 12 maxed out easily at your price range. Positive thing about this PC is also that it will last you quite a long time if you buy it and work great with everything really.
I bought previosly from this company and found them quite good Another thing is that when you go to their website you can cutomize the PC. You can add few things like ( change graphics card ) for higher price or choose different options that would lower the price of this PC. Bu to be honest I'd say they optimized this quite well.
It's slightly more than your average, and I can find something different. But I would definitely consider this one as it would last and produce great performance at a very resonable price too.
