Int. Osterreich Rundfahrt - Stage 8
roturn
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game/Austria/mg_austria_8_1.jpg
The last stage of this years Österreich Rundfahrt is a flat stage with just 122km. Will we see the first sprint finish here or another breakaway win?

Favourites are i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc512/ANFreeman/Jersey%20Sprites/saab.png Chicchi, who might have the best team around him and i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc512/ANFreeman/Jersey%20Sprites/Pokerstars.png Guillen, although he seems to suffering an injury since his early crash.
Also Haedo, Cucinotta, Di Nucci, De Fauw or Teruel should be watched.

With 72km to go we have a single rider 1min ahead. It`s i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc512/ANFreeman/Jersey%20Sprites/csc.png Parra Bustamante. The Columbian is 30th in the overall but more than 20min behind.
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game/Austria/mg_austria_8_2.jpg

Next to Aker and WWE it`s the Division 2 team doing the pace. Quite surprising although Gaywood recently was 2nd in the peloton sprint.
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game/Austria/mg_austria_8_5.jpg

But with 30km to go it`s Saab doing most of the work. Bjelkmark and Lövkvist work hard now for Chicchi. Parra Bustamante is 2'58 ahead.
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game/Austria/mg_austria_8_7.jpg

In the next 10km they gained 2min on him. 5 Saab riders are working hard now, while 2 are directly behind him. Also Alarcon is protected by his Aker squad carefully.
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game/Austria/mg_austria_8_9.jpg

No chance for Parra Bustamante against the Swedish team. Obviously we will really see the first sprint today.
In other bad news i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc512/ANFreeman/Jersey%20Sprites/tinkoff.png Kolesnikov just punctured with 8km to go and won`t come back as the speed is too high now. He was 10th in the overall but probably losing a bit which offers the next one, i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc512/ANFreeman/Jersey%20Sprites/bianchi.png De La Fuente the last top10 spot.
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game/Austria/mg_austria_8_11.jpg

3km to go and Chicchi still got 2 men ahead of him. Perfect sprint preparation by them. Behind him Teruel and Haedo in good positions. Also De Fauw, Di Nucci and Förster are not far behind while Guillen is somewhere around 20th position obviously feeling a tiny bit better again while Cucinotta isn`t seen nowhere as one of the stage favourites.
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game/Austria/mg_austria_8_15.jpg

1,5km to go and Chicchi is still waiting as Westling is ahead of him. Teruel is coming on the left now bringing De Fauw with him while Haedo decided to go on the right.
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game/Austria/mg_austria_8_21.jpg

With 700m to go Chicchi finally left his teammates wheel and accelerates.
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game/Austria/mg_austria_8_22.jpg

Comfortably he takes the win with one bike length ahead of Teruel and De Fauw. Heado, who obviously decided for the wrong side finishes 4th ahead of Di Nucci, Förster, Maaskant, Rizza and Valverde.
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game/Austria/mg_austria_8_25.jpg
Kolesnikov comes in some minutes behind and is falling back on the 14th.

Alarcon dominantly wins the 2012 Österreich Tour ahead of Valverde and Pozzovivo. He also takes the KoM and Youth jersey while the Spaniard Valverde takes the point jersey.
Bianchi wins the team ranking ahead of Aker Solutions.
