Despite being very sprinter friendly, there are not so many 'dominating' sprinters here than Qatar, meaning the race is much more open and exciting on the flat.

Thomas Frei of Agritubel began the moves and Saul Raisin was amongst the attackers. The lead group of 9 consisted of: Frei, Raisin, Kilun, Hegreberg, Schwab, Fertonani, Leezer, Nasir and Ortega.

Fernandez Oliveira, Velits and Riebenbaueur tried to join them but didnt quite make it and would form E2. Meanwhile at the back Romanian Pulpa of Marco Polo crashed and as one of the worst riders in the game, was in for a long hard day.

The 3 sprinters to look out for would be Leezer, Nasir and Hegreberg

The only KoM sprint soon followed and Leezer looked set to take it from being at the front from the sprint but Raisin and Fertonani attacked. Raisin just edged through to grab the Red jersey.

By this time, the poeleton started to chase but that did not stop Moos and Helminen attacking. Once they were caught, Proni and Moerenhout countered but were caught too.

In Sprint #2, the Malysian upset the others:

But Leezer got his own back in Sprint 3:

With 15km to go they were caught and Wrolich would lead the final sprint out for Usov.

And Usov was away with 1km to go, the battle was hotting up for 2nd though with Arango looking good ahead of Degano, Borrajo, Manan and a fading Wrolich.

They took the final curve in the road and Usov powered away.

Degano moved to the left to try and push Borrajo towards the barriers and blocking Van Dijk in doing so, but Manan took advantage of the extra space and moved alongside him.

Usov wins it!

But can Arango hang on for 2nd or will Manan surge through?

So Usov takes Yellow and also the Green points jersey. Raisin stuck with the peleton as did most of the break and he has the Red KoM jersey, while Manan has the White Young Riders jersey. Nippo are the best team with 5 riders in positions 12-19.
