About Me
Hi, I'm Ian Bibby, and welcome to my blog. I am a British road cyclist currently riding for the British Continental team Endura Racing. Here, I hope to give you an insight into my life as a cyclist and my career on the road. I have a few years experience now, mostly with the Motorpoint Team, but this is the next level of racing. As a youngster, I was a talented mountain biker and cyclo-cross rider and won the British cyclo-cross Championship in 2010. My best results on the road have been two stage wins in the Cinturon Ciclista Internacional a Mallorca and a second place in a stage of the Tour of Britain.
Strictly speaking, I am a time-triallist, but I consider myself as an all-rounder, capable of giving it a go in a wide variety of races. I will be hoping to use these skills to help the team leaders as well as getting a chance myself in races where I have a more elevated role in the team. I am really hoping to kick on this year, because this could be my only chance to show the big teams that I can fulfill my potential. As a Brit, it would of course be a dream to ride for Team Sky and my ultimate goal is to ride in the World Tour, but if I can't quite make it there, I will definitely take a Pro-Conti contract!
Anyway, that's it for now. I will give you an introduction to the team and the season later on, but here are my current skills;
Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy my story,
Ian

Team Presentation
Team Leaders
The Estonian rider is primarily a sprinter, but his climbing skills make him a top rider at this level, and he should be able to get some good results in hilly sprints. Unfortunately, his terrible TT'ing will make it very difficult to win any Tours.
Russell returns from his stint at the big boys, Team Sky, and will hope to use his experience and undoubted speed to pick up some top results for the team. We hope he can get us some big wins.
JTL has developed to become a really explosive climber over the years and he will carry our main threat in the hilly races.
Iker is our best stage racer, being able to climb and TT, as well as having good powers of recovery. Being Spanish, he will, of course, be looking to achieve some good results in the Iberian races we enter.
Ian is not only a good sprinter, but he is also our best rider over the cobbles, so will be useful in the spring.
Protected Riders
Paul is a really exciting German time triallist. Not only that, but he is also a very good all-rounder. The only thing he can't do is climb mountains, but hopefully, Paul can do well when he gets the chance and improve this year.
Matt Cronshaw is a useful young sprinter that we have snapped up from Raleigh. Just like Voss, we hope he can gradually improve as the year goes on and get some solid results.
Another sprinter, this time from Down Under, Zakkari will certainly get his chances. He also possesses a very strong time trial, particularly over short TT's.
The only Frenchman on the team, we have high hopes for Blain. At the moment he is a sprinter, but he is aiming to become more of a climber with a different training regime.
Another new signing, we saved Dan from retirement because we feel he is just too good to leave cycling. His climbing skills will make him a very useful ally to Mandri and Camano, but he will get his own chances.

Season Preview
Our sponsors, Endura, provide us with a useful budget for a Continental team and we have two seasons with them before the contract is up. At the moment, due to the signing of four new British riders, as well as having 'big-name' Downing in the squad, they could not be happier with us.
Here are the goals that Endura have challenged us to achieve this season. They include two races, Ronde van Belgie and the 5 Jours de Dunkerque, that we have been refused entry to. Nevertheless, the others should be achievable with the right form and a bit of luck.
While the team's three Aussies start their seasons with the National Championships, the rest of the team continue to train together in Southern France. The team actually start racing in Malaysia with the important Tour de Langkawi, before at the end of the month, we return to Southern France for the GP la Marseillaise. The majority of our early season races are in France.

My Season/Goals
Here are all of the races that the team have informed me I will be doing. Obviously this program depends on fitness, form and whatever else, but this is what I am planning for.
That gives me a nice busy season of just over 60 race days. I will be riding pretty much non-stop from late March - mid July, and after a little break, I will ride the Volta a Portugal. After a nice 4 week break, I will finish my season with "the big one", the Tour of Britain!
The main goals for me will be to perform in every race and give the team leaders everything I have. My personal goals are the Vuelta Asturias, the Tour of California, the Tour of Austria and then the races in September in Britain. It would be nice to win the British ITT Championship, but I think this season is probably too early to challenge the likes of Wiggins, Froome, Millar and Thomas. Finally, I'll be looking to get a stage win or a good overall placing in the Tour of Britain.
So, there you have it. I hope you are as excited as I am (unlikely) about the season ahead, and I hope that you will stay in touch. Feel free to ask any questions and don't forget to check back here soon, as I will give you an update on the team's performances in January.
See you on the road,
Ian

Good luck dude. I am in my fourth year of a career with Endura. Ian Bibby has developed into a very solid Time Triallist indeed and even has an outside shot at becoming World TT Champion this year. I look forward to seeing how this story develops. |

Thanks for all the comments, hopefully I can do the team justice and get this story moving and keep it going for a long time.
@sutty, I won't, because I have no British races in the database (apart from the Tour of Britain of course)
The team presentation is done in post 3, quite a long one

I was thinking about that tbh. What would be realistic attributes if I was to change them. Surely, he should have more ACC, STA and RES at least? |

Higher mountain and probably higher hill as well but I'm no stats wizard.

Well, the previews are finished and we're ready to go!
About JTL, I will increase all of the stats that Alakagom said by a couple of points. Feel free to PM me what they are exactly though
I don't want to cheat and make him too good, but it's pretty obvious from the results this season that he should be Endura's best rider! |
