Slipstream - Chipotle | Re-Writing History
valverde321

Game Info:

Team: Slipstream Chipotle
Database: PCM Norge 2007 DB (With minor edits)
Patch: 1.0.4.4
Race Difficulty: Hard
Development of Attributes: 0.4

Foreword:
Hello everyone. I have been thinking about making a team story with the 2007 db as it was my favourite year of cycling. I also wanted to make a Garmin story, but Roturn already has one and if I were to use a current database, I dont know if I'd be happy as I do not agree with the way Garmin are heading.
I also like doing small team stories, so if you're keeping count, this story should address all three of those issues, one way or another.

My plan is to grow the team like they did in real life, but do things a little differently and my way.

I need a reserve or two, so dont post yet, please.

As you can see, the team will need a lot of work, if it is to try and gain promotion into the Pro Tour. I think our leaders for the year will be Pate, Huff, Friedmann and maybe Thomas Peterson.

As for youngsters, there is Craig Lewis, Peter Stetina and Taylor Tolleson.

Our team only really has climbers and sprinters. The other stages will be quite boring for them.

Not too much here, but a good result is wanted at the Tour Down Under, Criterium Intl. and the Tour of California. The Tour of Georgia will also be an important race, and one where the team can maybe get a good result.

Thats it for the reserves. My plan is to try and update this once a week, and David will continue to be updated as much as my spare time/ time not playing UT or FM, allows for...

I like the idea of this story being based on the 2007-DB! I've been thinking about doing the same (before I started to have too less time to continue with Dark Dog Wink..).. good luck with managing your stories! We all know, we can expect some more quality here Smile

Thanks a lot everyone! So glad to hear that you like this idea!

As for the "most stories" award, I see it as more of a problem, than something I should be awarded for... Embarassed

Thanks everyone! This will be a quick story, as I will do my reports with less detail so I can get through seasons quicker (if I ever get through one)

i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad25/kesler1234/Flags%20V2/au.png Tour Down Under Stage 1

i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad25/kesler1234/tdu1.jpg

The first stage of the tour was a hectic one, and many of the sprinters teams wanted to grab the race by the horns, and get the famous leaders jersey. Slipstream were a little weak to contest for the win, we thought but that didn't stop us from trying. In the end Quickstep were too strong, with almost a Tour de France lineup, here to lead out Boonen, so of course he was able to grab the win! But great news, as Brad Huff was able to grab Boonen's wheel shortly and take 2nd on the stage.

i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad25/kesler1234/tdu2.jpg

Stage 2 was a little dull, but Frischkorn was able to grab a lead in the KoM competition. The sprinters had their day again, and it was basically a fight for 2nd place again, as Boonen got a great lead out once again. Huff was able to get 2nd, so I would say we can officially leave this race happy, no matter the result now!

i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad25/kesler1234/tdu3.jpg

Stage 3 was a little bumpy, and so the puncheurs were able to get away late in the stage. CSC and Quickstep worked at the front all day long, no doubt working on a move for their leaders. Arvesen attacked late in the stage, and a small group followed, including Pate who was able to slowly reach the tail end of the lead group, however Arvesen stole the stage and Boonen still gets to step on the podium as he finishes 2nd.

i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad25/kesler1234/tdu4.jpg

Stage 4 was flat, which spelt Boonen all over it. I wont keep you waiting, Boonen got yet another win, as he's 3/4 now, but Huff had a poor sprint today. We wanted to do better, but we are already happy with his results from before, so we wont be too angry at him, for this one. Lets see if we can get some results in the last two stages.

i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad25/kesler1234/tdu5.jpg

Lets guess who won stage 5? Boonen and Quickstep once again dominated the stage, and the breakaway has really not been working all that well. We tried to get Duggan in the break today, but Quickstep and CSC both took them back with about 30km left. Huff was able to break the top 10, but some of the better sprinters are starting to find their form now, so it will be harder for Huff to get a good result.

i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad25/kesler1234/tdu6.jpg

The sprinters made it 6/6 today, as Quickstep were once again at the head of the race! Boonen was blocked late in the sprint and so instead of waiting, Quickstep kept on, hoping to get the win anyway. Huff was getting a great leadout by Pate and the two actually broke away and had a small gap, and it looked like they could win, but they were caught with 200m left and finished outside the Top 10. Steegmans was able to get the win, and Boonen finished 24th. That wraps up the race, and we can definitely be happy with that once! Frischkorn nearly won the KoM if not for a small break late in stage 6 grabbing the last points of the tour. No we can look forward to Qatar.
