Stage 3 starts tough and gets easier, so a classic break vs sprint stage is expected, Thorsen, Bongiomo and Haddou are again favourites, but can anyone get past Burlutsky?

We have a 7 man break today: Van der Sanden, Brus, Puric, Smelcerovic, Zwizanski, Bazjanov and Agudelo. Smelcerovic's presence all but guaranteeing his jersey.

However Smelcerovic doesn't even bother with climb 1, taken by Bazjanov ahead of Van der Sanden and Zwizanski. In the background you can see Harvey, Mertens and Prestia try to cross the gap, but all they have really done is wake the bunch up.

Valinin attacks clear for the points, Gee and Harvey are next

Those three form todays break, clearly no one is worried about Valinin who is in 8th place.

They are joined by Zajicek, who gets third at the next climb, behind Gee and Valinin, who has moved into Polkadots.

Zajicek wins the final climb of the tour, Valinin secures his KoM jersey with second, while Harvey is third.

Now Harvey and Valinin look to the overall, Harvey wins the sprint, so they are both now at +18". Zajicek is third. The peloton are 5 minutes back with 73km to race.

The sprint order is the same again, so Harvey is at +12", with Vaninin at +14". This moves them to 5th and 6th overall for now.

Haddou powers clear with Fabbri on his wheel, Thorsen tries to shut the gap caused by the Almstrom lead out man cutting him off.

Korkotyan gets the 8 bonus seconds for third, ahead of Murrray and Chacon

Both Murray and Vaninin are too tired to stay in the peloton, meaning all their sprinting is wasted.

All this means that Burlutsky and Kananen stay 1-2 overall, with Haddou sneaking up to third ahead of Szczwinski and Fabbri on a countback.

Haddou also wins the Points jersey, while Machac gets the young riders.
