PCMGeeks Crash Problem

I have been using the PCMGeeks Database with some riders I added and it has been going great...until the first day of the Tour de France. It has crashed twice in a row. Help!

The race is 2007, the database is the latest as well as the game.

Hmm. It sounds weird.

I've attached the first stage of Tour de France to the thread. Extract it to your PCM/CM_Stages-folder and try again.

Do any other race take place the day the game crashes?

There are no other races that day. I get to the screen where I pick my equipment and that goes ok, then to the screen for tactics (leaders, teammates, etc.) make my changes and it has the red bar come up with the race name and then it crashes. perhaps i will try it actually playing the stage in 3d.

Oh, okay.

After the game has crashed, try to open your Start-bar, choose "Run" and write %appdata%

Your Application Folder will open. Choose "Pro Cycling Manager 2007". Inside that folder you'll find Pro Cycling Manager 2007.log. Open it with Notepad and copy the last lines and paste them here.

Try to reduce your graphic settings. I know you're trying to simulate the stage, but try it anyway.

The reason I posted that much of it is because I wanted you to see when I tried to simulate and when i tried 3d.

I just set the graphics to default in the opening "options" page and shaders to low in the "options" page when you get into the game and tried to simulate and it shut down again. It has worked fine for every race until now.

Perhaps this'll work:

Find your savegame located in My Documents\Pro Cycling Manager 2007\Database\Solo\PCMGeeks DB.

Your savegame consists of three files: yourgame.cdb, yourgame.cdi and yourgame.cdb~.

Make a copy of the file with the .cdb~ extension and rename it to whatever.cdb (i.e. delete the ~).

Now load your game again and try to play the stage.

I'm afraid there's no obvious solution for you to try. The game has a certain tendency to crash every now and then. Sometimes there's just no fix for a broken savegame - unless you have a backup. Sad
