After reading a few stories, I have decided to finally start my own, first, story !!
I installed the new PCM.Daily 2012 DB so I had the new teams for my first story.
I have chosen Vacansoleil - DCM as a team, so I have some goals to reach.
First of all, I'm going to make my introduction of the riders, sponsors and goals.
Tips, what I can do better, ... would be nice to hear from you, cause it's my first story I need to learn a lot of things I guess.
I hope I can enjoy everybody and let's get started ! |

The Sponsors and their goals :
Our main sponsor, Vacansoleil, gives us 2.487.000 € this year. The contract ends in 2013, but we are already hoping that they will stay longer.
Our second sponsor, DCM ( a Belgian company ), gives us 1.699.000 € this year. Also this contract will end in 2013.
I hope we can achieve Vacansoleil's goals this year, but we will do everything to do that.
DCM's goals are very interresting and I'm looking forward to go for them.
The Team :
Björn Leukemans:
With Björn we have a specialist in the classics. With some luck we can also get some action in the bigger races like the Giro, the TDF or in the Vuelta.
Romain Feillu:
Our main sprinter is Romain. Assisted by Kenny Van Hummel and Kris Boekmans we must be able to win some sprints.
Wout Poels:
The GC-riders in our team will be lead by Wout. With Thomas De Gendt, Johnny Hoogerland, Rob Ruijgh and Matteo Carrara, he has good help in the Mountains.

Races in January:
We will start our season in the Santos Tour Down Under in Australia. Our sprinters can do some first attempts of winning a race.
And maybe we can take a good GC back to Europe.
Besides the STDU, we are allowed in the Tour de San Luis in Argentina. That will be the first view for the Manager of how our climbers are in the hilly sections.
Some breakaways must be possible, but a GC, we are not expecting that.

Vacansoleil is a very nice team to start a story. Not too strong, not too weak. And a nice challenge to stay in WT.
You asked for tips: To make your graphics more appealing, you could crop your screens so that they show only the relevant parts and not the whole interface. You could also write a bit about your season planning, who of your leaders will ride what (if you have a plan). Or if you have maybe some personal goals besides your sponsor's.

@ cunego59: That's something I could do, with my screens...
Personal plans, I don't yet thinked about that, but that's also something I could do.
Thanks for the tips, I will probably write some personal goals later, because the sponsors didn't give any goals for the Giro. Some breakaways and maybe a stage win, would be great |

GT will be quite difficult but you can do something great on shorter Tours with Hoogerland, Carrara, Poels, etc.
Good luck |

@ dienblad: Thanks ! I also liked the team. Good mix of several riders from Belgium and Holland.
@ franki28: I'll do my best in every race and hopefully their will be something for us at the end.
@ Batista:15 Thanks a lot ! I'v already finished 1 race yesterday, but it was to late to post the report...
If I have some time today, the first report of my story will be online
@ FreitasPCM and Avin: Yep ! I wanted a challenge and I think it will be with a team like Vacansoleil...

Planning for the Santos Tour Down Under:
Leukemans will be our leader in Australia. With Devolder on his side, we must be able to end in the GC's top ten with one of them.
Boeckmans is our sprinter in the STDU. He is going to try his best and maybe surprise the other sprinters.
Main goal(s):
- Top 10 in GC
- Attack and getting in 1 or more BOTD |

Australian Championships:
Australian Championship:
Heinrich Haussler has won the Australian Championship in the sprint before Baden Cooke and Jack Bobridge.
Cadel Evans ended up 6th, 1'08" behind the winner.
Jack Bobridge was the fastest in the Australian Championship ITT. He managed to finish the race in 45'22". Michael Rogers was 2nd on 34" and Adam Hansen on 49".
Cadel Evans ended 5th on 1'15".
A bad start of the year for Cadel Evans who didn't get on the podium in both races. |

Santos Tour Down Under
Our first race of the year is going to start. The team goal's are to get a GC top ten and getting in some breakaways.
Boeckmans is our sprinter and he may take every chance to surprise the other sprinters at the finish.
The Team:
Leader: B. Leukemans
Free man: S. Devolder
Sprinter: K. Boeckmans
Helpers: S. Lagutin, M. Marcato, R. Valls, J. Morajko
Many attacks at the beginning of the year. But not any of them was able to get away from the peloton that was always setting a high pace because of the big number of attackers.
Untill a group of 12 riders managed to get away, including Goddaert, Viviani, Blythe, Dall'Antonia, Dean, Minard, Herrada, Urtasun, Bouhanni and 3 others.
Goddaert (AG2R) wins the first intermediate sprint before Bouhanni (FDJ) and Urtasun (Euskaltel).
No sprinting for the Mountain points. Dall'Antonia (Liquigas) gets over it first before Dean (GreenEdge), Minard (AG2R), Viviani (Liquigas) and Herrada (Movistar).
Again an intermediate sprint. This time it was Vivani who wins it. Blythe (BMC) was 2nd and Bouhanni 3rd.
The breakaway never get more than 3 minutes so it was no surprise that there would be a mass sprint at the end.
A nice sprint train was formed for Boeckmans in the middle of the screen. Also Lampre formed a good train for Petacchi followed by Cavendish (Sky), Ventoso (Movistar) and Henderson (Lotto-Belisol).
It was Cavendish who takes the first stage of the STDU 2012. Petacchi ended 2nd, Paolini 3rd.
Boeckmans finished 13nd after his leadout man Marcato. He wasn't in good shape yet.
Stage result:

Down Under is always hard with mediocre sprinters. Two tips for the report: In my opinion, you could zoom a bit more, especially the screen of the sprint preparation is quite far away. And also, you should always deactivate your interface, but you did that mostly so I guess it wasn't on purpose in the last two screens.
Anyway, good luck for the next stages.

Yeah, i noticed that it wasn't easy in the sprint...
I forgot to take a screen of the finish, so that's why i need to take one in the replay :s Next time, it will better.
I'll think about the tips, thanks a lot ! I can use them |
