So what have been some of your racing shocks, whether it be you racing or as the AI racing. Mine was this:
Sarmiento grabbing 20th place despite only having a 55 sprint speed! I'm not very good at this game, technique wise, so I usually get a lot of shock performances. What is everybody elses biggest shock that they have seen in their game?

Ive just won the Tour of Flanders with Thor Hushovd, didnt expect to win, would of been happy with a top 5, rode away from Cancellera and Boonen on flat roads

Eisel winning MSR by escaping 20KM before the finish on extreme difficulty in the first season.
And Brajkovic winning the Tour in the same season.

Eisel is a strange rider on this game, he went on alone attack with 100km to go in my Tour of Flanders race

Thanks for the comments so far. Interesting stuff. Sarmiento is being rated more higher now for his great ride in this stage! He's only young too! XD |

At the moment, I'm having a dream season with my all-South American team. It's our first season in the World Tour and I was expecting to go straight back down, but here's some of the results I've already got:
TDU - Duque 4th GC, Fischer KoM
P-N - Uran 2nd GC, Henao Stage Win + KoM
T-A - Rujano 1st GC, Magallanes 3rd GC(), Fischer 4th GC
MSR - Uran 4th
VCC - Henao 6th GC
Plus a couple of podium finishes for my sprinter Richeze. And before you say anything, no I'm not on easy, it's hard. Milan - San Remo was particularly odd, as the breakaway made it to the end, with Uran attacking on the Cipressa but not quite making it to the front three.
Also, last season, Roux won the World ITT Champs.!!

Great stuff! I have Duque too, he's a pretty solid rider. I probably use him wrong but I used hi mas breakaway in the stage in which Sarmiento came 20th and he lead for a good 50KM! |

Riccardo Ricco won the Giro two years in a row for Christina Watches while I played Saxo Bank. Both times he were placed 8-10 with a few mountain stages left, then ended in a breakaway where he gained anything from 10 to 20 minutes, and ended up winning with 1 minute. I simulated, so that's probably why it happend...

Just had another big shock in the 2nd stage of the Giro. I managed to win with Leonardo Duque after I attacked with about 15Km to go. I don't know how Lang got 4th though..

Just won the green jersey in the Tour with Anthony Roux, whose only notable stats are 75 HI, 75 FL, 74 TT, and 71 SP. Went into a lot of breakaways, a couple were successful, and picked up a stage win along the way

Hmmm, just won Milan SanRemo with Kreuziger. Gerrans (from the break of the day) was still in front when we hit the Poggio, i moved Kreuziger to the front of the pack. Tried a first, short attack but Rodriguez reeled me back in. When Rodriguez was gone, i attacked again, came over the top with about 20 sec, made it 40 in the downhill, still 20 behind Gerrans. Kreuziger was almost completely dead by then, but Gerrans had nothing left what so ever. In the end, Boonen came second from the pack, in Kreuziger's wheel.
Gasparotto came 5th, so a very good race for us.

Just played the Milan San Remo in my career as Leopard, first season, was hoping to do well with Cancellara, attacking on the poggio, i was joined by 2 other riders, Gilbert, and Ballan, we attacked together, i was riding them off my wheel seemingly set for victory, when suddenly, Gilbert falls, and brings down both other riders, leaving victory to a weird late attack by none other than... *drum roll please* AG2R rider- David Le Lay... -.-

That's funny, The other day I attacked with Le Lay just before the Poggio and got away to win, with Gilbert coming second and Cancellara third...

Today I saw AI rider lifting his arms in celebration right before my rider passed him in an uphill sprint to take the victory. I was quite shocked, haven't seen that before. Kinda reminded me of Zabel and Freire |

I just got a message in my carreer, half way through my first season:
Out of all riders, Ricardo Ricco just signed a contract with BMC until 2014! Appearantly, they needed a replacement for their lead rider Gilbert, who signed with none other than Euskaltel |

I have just started the 2012 season with GreenEdge. Simon Gerrans is destroying it! Won Aust Champs, Milan-Sanremo in an attack 3k out. Top 5 in the 3 ardenne Classics, including a win in Fleche-Wallonne. He has just finished the Giro where he got 1 podium finish.
My issue now is that he is out of contract, he wants to resign, but wants to "mull it over"... i have offered him over twice what he is asking but still won't sign. Im going to be really annoyed if he doesnt sign with me next year! |
