Hi all friends!
I have changed my AMD AThlon II x2 to a new AMD Phenom II x6 but my surprise is when I run the game and the perform is the same or below the older one.
I don't understand because in the other games the improvement is very high (for example in F1 2011 I have passed from 30-40 FPS to 60-80 FPS with the new CPU).
But in PCM I'm about 30-40 FPS in better cases.
What could be the reason of this?
It's recomended to reinstall the game with the new hardware?
Every help will be much appreciated! Thanks in advance for your answers!

The reason is PCM has a bad optimization of the system resources. |

Technically speaking:
If the speed of the individual cores in the Phenom is not faster then in the Athlon, then you will only get performance boost if a game supports more then two cores.
Also each game is different, some need more CPU, some more GPU. I really cannot remember to which side PCM tends. |

The Athlon have 3000 MHz and the Phenom 2700 MHz (Turbo Core 3200 MHZ). In any case, does not PCM support more than 2 cores? It seems strange... |

PCM 2010 and PCM 2009 performed better as single-core games for me. (set core affinity to 1 core). They weren't really built for handling more I think.
PCM 2011 works fine as it is (i have a phenom quad core). Sometimes I still hit the stupid 2gb mem. limit, but not as often as previous PCM games.
You'll be happy to hear cyanide said to me they have dealt with the memory handling in PCM 2012. So those are problems of the past |

Do you think if I reinstall the game I will improve performance or not? |

Of course not, you said yourself that your new CPU has about the same speed as the old one. |

Then you think is normal that the performance it's the same? Despite now I have six cores?
I'm thinking I have wasted my money... |

Having six cores is like having six cars. You will not be faster, but you can carry more people.
Multi-core CPUs are great for multi-tasking. Like running many, many programs at the same time. But it might take another decade until the game industry learns how to use all of them. |

I understand. Then my F1 2011, where I have a high performance, is because the game uses the 6 cores better than others games like PCM?
Only by curiosity: How many cores can handle PCM 2011?
