I tried to simulate the first stage of the Giro on my game (I hate TTTs) but the game crashed so I loaded up again, went to sim, same thing.
Decided to try to just do the race but the start list had me with like 12 riders and the game worked ok until my team came out then it just crashed again.
Very odd, any ideas? |

This is a rare bug and I doubt there will be an easy way to fix it if you don't have a backup of your career.
But you could try to open the save file of your career with an editor (look in the download section for PCM 07 because I think my editor would not work for PCM 07).
There should be a table called DYN_team_race where you would have to find the entry for your team at that race. The last column in that table would be the list of your riders, so check how many are in that list.
Please note: I played this game long ago and writing these instruction out of my mind, so please ask again if my description is wrong. |

I've deleted all the riders for the race in DYN_team_race and still no luck. It loads up to the point my team is about to set off but then when we start it crashes like the game just realised we have too many. I've tried selecting fewer riders, but then the game says I need 9... |

I am somewhat out of ideas. But in the game, if you look at the list of your riders, is there a column which shows where the riders are at the moment? If yes, then check this column. On the first day of the GIRO, before it starts, how many of your riders are mentioned to be in the Giro? |

Hey, I managed to get past that stage of the Giro by loading an old backup and simming past it straight to stage 2. There were extra riders in the race but as long as I ignored them the game was fine lol
Unfortunately just had the same problem in the TDF. Again it's a TTT that's the problem. I've looked in the riders list and 11 of them say they are in the race. Is there some way to delete the extra 2 that you know of? |

First look in DYN_team_race as described above, then look in DYN_cyclist. The column could be named fkIDrace. |

Changing fkIDrace worked! And we won the TTT which is excellent! Thanks for all your help, Lachi. If it happens again I'll know what to do
Edit: - However, the two riders I deleted from the race are now 1st and 2nd in the tour with a time 5hrs better than everyone, from the stage they just missed. Any way to delete them from the results as well? Sorry for all the questions!

Doesn't matter, I've fixed it!
I added the two riders back in, then withdrew them from the race with Effort = 0 |
