Russia invites you to another sprinter classic. The focus in the only Russian race is surely on the home team Tinkoff, who send all 5 of their Russian sprinters here. Best chances might have Markov and with his 4 country men he will have a nice support.
But the big favourites are others. Best chance surely for Daniele Bennati. The Italian was already successful this season and wants another win. Being maybe the best sprinter in the world he is obviously the top favourite.
His biggest opponent is another Italian. Venchi`s Corioni will try to beat him here.
Also Haussler will try to perform well here. The German showed his good form in Dunkerque with 2 stage wins.
Hushovd had some bad luck in the early Dunkerque stages but found his rhythm towards the end, so you must expect him here.
Other sprinters having a good chance here are Borrajo, Feillu, Docker and Van Loocke.
Priamo, Haedo, Lorenzetto and Nishitani have outside chances so these teams might try to go into the break,
Koppert surely will try as they don`t really have a guy for a sprint finish.

Expecting nothing but a top 10 would be perfect. Bennati is my tip.

I could take a win here, don't have anything against that
Are my team to weak or may we see a Saab train?
We had some races early in the season with trains and that was not so much better team. |

My goal in this race is to join the breakaway, I've no expectations if it comes down to a bunch sprint. Hopefully my team will sprint for Jørgensen then, I'll be happy if he manages a top 15. |

I'll be honest I saw the profile and I thought breakaway, but then I went and picked Tzortzakis who will probably be nominated as my breakaway rider.
Looking at the field it is not as laden with sprinters as I thought it would be so I expect it to be quite volatile.

Yep, Maksimov clearly made a wrong decision, not riding for T.CS Bank - OJSC Rosneft, but you can't blame him, € 350.000 is a crazy salary XD
Well worth it At 24 he is a great investment for me. Well really my only good investment. After some training in the off season I got me a sprinter

Actually, I expected a much stronger lineup for this race.
Well, it increases Bennati's chance of a sprint win quite a bit. But I guess there won't be many teams interested in helping us with the chase.
Theoretically, we should have enough powerful riders to that on our own, but we'll see.
Certainly a race we need to perform well in to not loose contact to some teams I'd like to finish ahead in the CT rankings.

Here finally the report.
Had a unexpected day off from home yesterday, so no time to post it.
Hope you enjoy. |

Nice report, roturn!
And wow, that was nice, Jørgensen 4th and 4 riders in the top 18, looks promising ahead of Rogaland GP. Great to see the team being so active through the race, though, I suspect we were a bit lucky thanks to the chaotic finish.
Congratulations to Puma - SAP, Bennati was in his own league, untouchable it seems.

Bit of a mess of a race that one really, worked out great for Puma who are set up around Bennati really well I have to say.
It looked like we good snap something a bit better than 10th, but that is all that we deserved really. Not the worst race really by the team we just didn't have the quality.

Puma did what they were expected to do but a big fail for me. I hope Haussler will show something better in Berlin.

Thanks for all the kind words
That was really a strange sprint, I feared Bennati would get blocked, but it seems he is really worth the money.
Also a great race from all my riders, pulling back the break and still having 4 additional points scorers.
Especially Delage seems to have finished 4th of the "fresh" riders, which is another great result from him.

Nice 2nd by Corioni. Bennati was impossible to beat in this race, it seems.
