Team Presentation

Leaders

Jean-Christophe Peraud

i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd475/davidworthington27/ChristophePeraud.jpg

Peraud has really only come into cycling in the last few years with his victory of the french national time trial jersey, his two top ten places in Paris-Nice and his top ten place in the Tour de France last year. Again Peraud will be aiming to impress in these two races and he will look to improve by hopefully stealing a podium spot in one.

Nicholas Roche

i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd475/davidworthington27/NichoRoche.jpg

Roche has lived in the shadow of his father and cousin and has searched for his true potential over the last few seasons. He has been searching for a good GT spot and is still waiting for his first GT stage win, Roche will be searching to achieve both of these this season when he is participating in the Vuelta a Espana.

John Gadret

i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd475/davidworthington27/JohnathonGadret.jpg

Gadret will be looking to repeat the success of last years Giro d'Italia and maybe trying to grab an elusive GT podium place. Gadret may also be looking to make an impact on the Tour of Romandie.

Protected Riders

Rinaldo Nocentini

i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd475/davidworthington27/rinaldinocentini.jpg

Rinaldo Nocentini is most famous for his success in the 2009 Tour de France where he held onto the Maillot Jaune for 8 days. He is a classics specialist so his main aim this year will be to get a noteworthy result in a hilly classic.

Martin Elmiger

i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd475/davidworthington27/martinelminger.jpg

Martin's aims this season will be to repeat his successes in the Tour Down Under and he will also look to try and steal the Swiss national championships for the fourth time in his career.

Anthony Ravard

i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd475/davidworthington27/antravard.jpg

Anthony Ravard is the best sprinter in the team and he will be going for a lot of high position finishes on sprint stages whilst competing for point jerseys. Ravard will also make an appearance in at least one grand tour.

Hubert Dupont

i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd475/davidworthington27/HerbertDupont.jpg

Hubert's main aim this year will be climbers jerseys and he will also help the general classification riders in the grand tours he participates in. He will also help out Nocentini and Roche in some of the hilly classics and trying to snatch a high finish himself.

Christophe Riblon

i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd475/davidworthington27/ChrisRiblon.jpg

Christophe will lead the team in some small tours and will help out the leaders in the larger tours. He will be especially useful for the team time trials and could be the difference between a top 5 GC spot and podium place.

Jimmy Casper

i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd475/davidworthington27/JimmyCaspar.jpg

Jimmy Casper is rated as the second best sprinter in the team and he will look to lead the sprinting front in one of the grand tours, lead other smaller tours and help other sprinters whilst he is off form.

Luxury Team Mates

Sébastian Hinault

i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd475/davidworthington27/SebHinault.jpg

Hinault is our best cobble rider and will be aiming to get a top ten finish in one of the cobbled classics.

Blel Kadri

i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd475/davidworthington27/BleKadri.jpg

Blel Kadri will also be looking towards the climbers jerseys this year and may also lead the team in some continental tours.

Lloyd Mondory

i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd475/davidworthington27/loydmondory.jpg

Lloyd is another one of the teams great sprinters and he can also ride cobblestones too. He will look to do well in the cobbled classics and sprint for a high finish at the end. He will also sometimes lead the sprint front.

Manuel Belletti

i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd475/davidworthington27/manbelletti.jpg

Manuel will also be looking towards the sprints and will lead the sprint front in some continental tour races and lead out team mates like Ravard in big competitions.

Kristof Goddaert

i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd475/davidworthington27/krisgoddearat.jpg

Kristof is a younger version of Lloyd Mondory and he will look to help out Hinault and Mondory in the cobbled classics this season whilst improving upon his own skills in that area. He can also sprint and could be a key lead-out man for the other sprinters and may look to mix it up in the sprints himself on some stages.

Matteo Montaguti

i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd475/davidworthington27/matteomontaguli.jpg

Matteo will look to challenge for the climbers jersey in smaller tours and may participate as a team mate in a grand tour to protect the leaders.

Maxime Bouet

i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd475/davidworthington27/Maxbouet.jpg

Maxime Bouet is another young rider looking to improve his skills as a climber and will help the leaders in the grand tours.

Geezar10 just made his first post, with a few reserved spots. Think it's way too early to give any comment!

@Teddy The Creator
Jean's aim will be the Tour and Paris-Nice so hopefully he can pull off a result but we think the win might be a stretch too far

@alexanderlens
Can't wait to get started either and hoping we can make an early impression

@Avin Wargunnsonand

We anticipate a lot of tough competition going into this race and aren't expecting miraculous results but our aim will be a high overall finish for Elmiger whilst Mondory concentrates on snatching a couple of top ten finishes in the sprints. The rest of the team will support these two and try to get in the breakaways.

Santos Tour Down Under

Stage 1

i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd475/davidworthington27/TDU1.png

The break of the day formed early in the day with 110kms to go. The only notable rider in the group was Danilo Wyss and our rider, Sylvain Georges.

i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd475/davidworthington27/TDU2.png

The break held out with four minutes on the pack and forty kilometres to go. This was going to go down to the wire.

i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd475/davidworthington27/TDU3.png

BMC's leader Alessandro Ballan fell within thirty kilometres of the line and it didn't look like he would catch back up with the peleton.

i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd475/davidworthington27/TDU4.png

The break was caught ten kilometres from the line and this paved the way for the sprint trains to form.

i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd475/davidworthington27/TDU5.png

Three major sprint trains formed: Team Movistar; Team Sky and Team Lotto Belisol. Llyod Mondory got Cavendish's wheel.

i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd475/davidworthington27/TDU6.png

The sprint was hotly contested and four riders looked like they could win, Rojas, Cavendish, Greipel and Mondory.

i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd475/davidworthington27/TDU7.png

Cavendish took the sprint and Mondory set off a little too late and didn't quite take third despite this he was delighted with a brilliant fourth against a strong field of sprinters.

i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd475/davidworthington27/TDU8.png

BMC's shot at the general classification was severely dented today after their leader Ballan finished five minutes behind the peleton along with three team mates.

i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd475/davidworthington27/TDU9.png

We are delighted with this result as we were only hoping for a couple of top ten results and we've come away with a top five in the first race. It may be a little hopeful but I think we can get a podium result before the tour is done.

FreitasPCM
Good start with Lloyd Mondory. Ag2r have an interesting team, will be fun to fight for maintenance in World Tour, but I'm sure you can make it. Wink

sutty68
Nice 4th place for MondoryWink

Jeronen
Could be possible to end on the podium once. With a little bit of luck and some good shape one day, it must work Grin
