Tour of the Czech Republic - Stage 4
SportingNonsense
i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/czechs4-0.jpg

The 3rd sprint stage of the race. i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc512/ANFreeman/Jersey%20Sprites/proximus.png Cavendish and i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc512/ANFreeman/Jersey%20Sprites/Cyclevox-1.png Vaitkus have victories to their name, while i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc512/ANFreeman/Jersey%20Sprites/Pokerstars.png Mohs will feel like he deserves one after Pokerstars bossed the leadouts for the first two stages.

i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc512/ANFreeman/Jersey%20Sprites/calgiant.png Haedo, i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc512/ANFreeman/Jersey%20Sprites/focus.png Drujon, i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc512/ANFreeman/Jersey%20Sprites/saab.png Chicchi and i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc512/ANFreeman/Jersey%20Sprites/BPost.png Van Loocke are amongst the other sprinters who will hope to feature.

A breakaway of 8 forms.

i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc512/ANFreeman/Jersey%20Sprites/ferrari.pngLongo Borghini

Chasing behind them, without much luck are i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc512/ANFreeman/Jersey%20Sprites/hollister.png Caminiti and i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc512/ANFreeman/Jersey%20Sprites/wwe.png Hoste.

One KoM today, giving the winner a chance to join Petrie-Armstrong and Hiratsuka as joint KoM leaders. Bragazzi wins the battle at the top, from Aistrup and Longo Borghini
i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/czechs4-2.jpg

With 30km to go, the break leads the peloton by just over 2 minutes, with Hoste and Caminiti in the middle of the gap - and they gain WWE reinforcements with i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc512/ANFreeman/Jersey%20Sprites/wwe.png Didier and Pineau.
i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/czechs4-3.jpg

At the final sprint, i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc512/ANFreeman/Jersey%20Sprites/Rothaus.png Van Heerden takes it again - this time from Corti and Kirsch

The break then starts to split up. WWE's team effort is caught, and soon only 4 of the initial breakaway remain: Corti, Longo Borghini, Kirsch and Aistrup
i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/czechs4-4.jpg

But they too are caught, and Pokerstars take control with Clement, Terpstra, Degenkolb and Mohs. Cavendish spots the danger and is alongside Mohs.
i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/czechs4-5.jpg

i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc512/ANFreeman/Jersey%20Sprites/saab.png Chicchi takes the wheel of Cavendish as i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc512/ANFreeman/Jersey%20Sprites/calgiant.png California Giant produce an opposing leadout train with Koren, Tolleson and Haedo.
i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/czechs4-6.jpg

The sprint gets chaotic as Tolleson looks to leadout Haedo, and Haedo simply rides ahead of him. i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc512/ANFreeman/Jersey%20Sprites/oz-1.png Cooke and i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc512/ANFreeman/Jersey%20Sprites/ferrari.png Rizza now follow Haedo.
i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/czechs4-7.jpg

Degenkolb now launches Mohs, and they gain a gap on Cavendish. Rizza makes his move aswell as i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc512/ANFreeman/Jersey%20Sprites/Cyclevox-1.png Vaitkus also looks to become involved.
i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/czechs4-8.jpg

And suddenly Vaitkus is charging forwards, alongside Degenkolb - Cavendish now also sprinting to the side of Mohs
i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/czechs4-9.jpg

Rounding the final bend, Vaitkus takes the lead but Cavendish is challenging. Finally Mohs makes his move aswell
i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/czechs4-10.jpg

Cavendish closes on Vaitkus as Mohs also now shows his speed
i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/czechs4-11.jpg

Mohs is fastest of the 3 - but has he left it too late? Cavendish too is pressing on Vaitkus, but still the Lithuanian leads as the line nears
i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/czechs4-12.jpg

Vaitkus takes his 2nd stage win! Cavendish 2nd, Mohs 3rd - both launched their sprints just too late to halt Vaitkus today
i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/czechs4-13.jpg

Chicchi takes 4th with Haedo 5th - California Giant having truly confused theirselves with their leadout attempt. Theres no change in the race lead, of course, Reus holding the lead into the final hilly stage.
