6 races since the 1st update, with 12 down altogether, time for the latest rankings. Last time, Vesuvio-Accumalux held as 1202 point lead over Sony Ericsson in 2nd, while 4th placed Pearl Adidas were 1342 down. They may have been the top team in the first 6 races, but Vesuvio have gone on to be the worst team in the most recent 6, and that massive lead is no more.

Vesuvio do still lead, but helped by victories in Omloop Het Volk and Rund um Koln, plus Bakelandt's going strong in Pays Vasco, Pearl Adidas have slashed the gap to just 19 points, and are set to become the new PT leaders after the upcoming Paris-Roubaix. 1606 points makes them the top scorer in the past 6 races,

The next best scoring team recently are the Boonen-powered Nestle squad. 3 victories for the Belgian, and Nestle are our biggest climbers, 1291 points takes them from 11th to 4th. Defending champions Sony Ericsson also topped 1200 points with 1205, and while slipping to 3rd, they are now within 300 points of the top spot.

Next up at 5th in the standings are the only other team to have won a race in this period - Jack Wolfskin - as Robert Gesink finally came good for the team in the Basque country. Three other notable scoring teams recently are Milka (who stay 8th), Carmeuse (up 3 to 11th) and Bacardi (up 1 to 12th).

With confirmation of their disbandment from their manager, Domina Vacanze are now sure to take up 1 of the 4 relegation spots, but the battle remains for the other 3. Warner Brothers are currently the last of these in 19th, but Cafe de Colombia are not far away, having now fallen into the drop zone. The final team are Spyker, who have at least gained a position, but the likes of Webeffect and UBS remain close, and although in 17th, Spyker are less than 500 points away from 11th - theres plenty of races left to come.

With 3 wins chalked up, Tom Boonen has clearly been the top scoring rider in the past 6 races, netting 823 points. But he does not lead the individual standings - that honour belongs to Jan Bakelandts. 497 points in total, including 384 from Pays Vasco which took him past Pluchkin and into top spot. Having not raced, Pluchkin slips behind Boonen to 3rd, just ahead of Sam Bewley and Robert Gesink. Trofimov, Ballan, Ponzi and Schumacher are next, with Ben Swift slipping down to 10th.

I've been dissappointed in Burghardt, i should really have gotten more points from the cobbles. Can't see it going better in P-R tbh. Need Ricco to be good, otherwise i might come close to relegation.

6th in the team ranking is some way beyond what i'd hoped for after the cobbles season. Drucker really held my team in the fight.

I suppose the good thing about those rankings is that I never expected much out of the races we've just had - and indeed I didn't get anything.

We are very heavily dependent on Cunego coming up big in the Tour - if he doesn't, don't think it will matter however many points we get in other races.....

The battle between Schleck and Bakelants in the Ardennes gets some extra spice with their teams so close on the rankings. I have to say Sony are putting up a pretty good defence of their title as well. Jack Wolfskin and Festina, I hoped would be challenging for the top spot as well have not been consistent enough sadly though both do have a lot left in the 'bullpen'.

Everybody else seems to be concerned about relegation, a lot of teams low down do have a big star lurking - CdC (Cunego), WB (Spilak), Spyker (Dekker), Web (Sella), Santa (Madrazo), Wiki (Phinney), Bacardi (Ricco). On that evidence you have to say Carmuese and UBS will be starting to worry. Mind you I suspect at least one of these big stars will underperform. As fenian says if Cunego messes the Tour up CdC will be in a bad position!

Let's hope he messes up then (and Cunego goes free agent), I want to build my team more Italian next year as I already got 3 Italians, and Cunego could get a good year or 2 with the help from my up and coming talents (if I promote that is, and considering the result from Marzano last year I started to get a bit scared :-p)

Psssh, I'm not worried at all. Schumacher and Gomez Marchante haven't even used close to half of their race days, while Amador hasn't even started yet. We've gotten through the worst part of the season for us and we aren't in one of the relegation places, so I think we should be fine. The Top-5 Goal, on the other hand...

On second thought, most of the fast people aren't even close to using half of their race days either, so that kind of negates that advantage.

I'm worried. Very worried. But then, I always do.

Popovych, Rowe (L), Cataldo and Kritskiy have yet to really start racing (Popo at all), and with Ponzi performing suitably well on the hills I don't fear the drop as much as when I commenced the transfers. I'm just grateful I managed to buy Popovych!

Roubaix update:

A change of leadership all round. Pearl Adidas move over 3000 points and into the lead, while Tom Boonen now tops the individual standings. Bewley is up to 3rd, while helping Milka to 5th, B&O losing 2 spots. Otherwise, not too much change.
