create your rider, remember make sure he is saved, then save the db, and call it for example 'my rider'. then go into the game, press the options button, move to the last tab and choose your db, and make it the standard database. then it should work  |

It only goes back to the normal DB if you go back to that option screen. If you select it and then start your career everything should be fine.
If that does not work, then either rename your DB so that it will be shown on top or delete the normal DB so that your DB is the only one. The last way would be to replace the normal DB with your DB, so there are plenty of options. |

You delete a DB by deleting the related file. Just remember to backup the file before you delete it.
