I added Tour of Germany for one of my save games to make an story about it. I used the Official Editor an added stage by stage. Everthing looks all right and I can see the race in the calender. I also forced the PT teams to take part and cheked that my team was invited in Lachis's editor. Everthing looked fine until the game simulated the first stage? All the other PT teams was in the results except my team.
Is there something I've missed or is it simply impossible to add an race to a savegame?
The question is: when did you add the race? During the season or in off-season (October-December)? If you add a race in January or later, the teams won't participate "as normal", cause the race-inscriptions have been made on 1st January.. There may be a way to add all teams and riders with an editor, but it's pretty much work to add 180 riders one-by-one and you would have to look for race-clashes etc..

Well, at least you've noticed it early in the season Adding a stage/race to a savegame in off-season is no problem at all. Forcing PT-teams is a good idea, too.. but don't expect too many superstars there
I opened an weekly save from november and disvovered that I've already added the race by then.
I openend another weekly save from January and saw that I was Not Invited for the race so I asked for a wildcard. Then I simulated to the start of race but I was not allowed to take part, The calender says "Pending".
Seems like I have to restart the savegame and simulate the first months to continue my story
