1st Heinrich Haussler (GRM) 4h05'06
2nd Michael Rogers (SKY) +23"
3rd Michael Matthews (RAB) +23"
4th Cadel Evans (BMC) +23"

So close to a win, but a great race by Matthews to hold on to the strong men. Brown protected well for 2-3laps, but we knew he wouldn't hold on. Things are looking good for the ITT

Australian ITT NC
1 rider; Michael Matthews

2nd Cadel Evans (BMC) +42"
3rd Michael Rogers (SKY) +43"
...
6th Michael Matthews (RAB) +1'44
Another great ride by Matthews. Looking to play a big role in the TDU in a week, Matthews will look for a stage win i hope.
Our team for the TDU will be sprint orientated, and will hope to get a stage win or two.
It has been great to hear of Matthews brilliant rides in Australia. I am currently doing mostly local club rides around Utrecht, just building back some base fitness. I am planning to head up to the North Brabant region next week to join up with Stef Clement and Steven Kruij, can't wait!

The first UWT race of the year attracted alot of big names. Cavendish, Farrar, Rojas, Benati, Ventoso, Galimzyanov, Rasmussen, Goss and JJ Haedo to name a few.
Our goal was to get a stage win, targeted for the Willunga Hill stage.
7 Riders;
Oscar Freire
Graeme Brown
Michael Matthews
Tom Leezer
Paul Martens
Tom Slagter
Rick Flens
Stage 1
A short flat stage with an uphill finish. Freire was our leader for the day.
Martens won the early KoM sprint, before droping back into the peloton.
A break went clear after 20km, and was caught with 20km to go.
HTC and Garmin dominated the lead outs, with Rabobank swamped with 5km left.
Matthews bullied through to launch Freire, but too late.
Farrar eased to victory ahead of Cavendish and Goss.
Freire finished 4th.
Stage 2
Another flat stage with a downhill finish. Brown took charge today.
A simple day, with a break of 5 caught at 10km to go.
HTC were imperious in the sprint. Rasmussen taking the win, Goss second and Brown 3rd.
Stage 3
The hilly stage threw up the first big suprise of the race.
A large break of 18 went clear, and stayed clear. Slagter was among them but couldn't challenge in the sprint.
The win went to Gianni, 2nd Steegemans, 3rd Corti
Stage 4
Back on the flat and it was another bunch sprint.
HTC again dominated the run in, but couldn't deliver as Fernandez shocked everyone to win. 2nd was Farrar, and 3rd Rojas
Stage 5
Willunga Hill climbed twice to finish, and was our target.
Rabobank dominated the day. 7 riders only got a maximum of 4mins.
Slagter, Flens, Brown and Leezer forced the pace on lap one of the hill.
Matthews and Martens pulled on the second lap, spliting the peloton.
Garmin lead the final descent, allowing Matthews to recover.
He then lead out Freire, who blasted past Goss and Steegemans to win!
Stage 6
The final crit around Adelaide.
2 riders defied the odds to win the day.
Iglinsky held off Karpets to win. Cavendish rounded out the podium
Summary
Solid riding achieved consistency. We were always going to struggle against such tough competition. We dominated Willunga Hill and Freire made it worth the effort.
The GC went to Steegemans
The KoM went to Iglinsky
The Points went to Cavendish

A Word from Kelderman
Hi people,
I've just been riding in Holland for the week. I met up with Stef and Steven for a few rides, its great to learn from these guys. We watched Oscar on Willunga Hill, a great result which we'll celebrate when he gets back.
The DS called me up last night to tell me my up coming shedule.
I've only got one race in Febuary - the Tour of the Med. Its a short 5 stage race, where i'll be looking to help our leader and maybe breakaway. March - i'll ride the Vuelta Catalunya, the 7 day spanish UWT race. It will be a great experience, and my first ever UWT race!
Because our sponsors want an overall win in the Giro the team is already being looked at. And i'm in contention!! Some good results in these next 2 races and i could be in a GT!!!
Next i'm off to the Med to scout the race climbs with Gesink! and Mollema!

It looks good so far but here's a tip: On your reports, you might want to change the yellow color for some of the names, because they're really difficult to make out and it makes it tough to read

Riders;
Juan Manuel Garate (Leader)
Bram Tankink (Reserve Leader)
Stef Clement
Wilco Kelderman
Tom-Jelte Slagter
Pieter Weening
Preview;
Hi people, Wilco here.
My first race of the year, and with Rabobank.
3 hilly stages and two flat.
I will be Garate's protector on stages 1,2and3.
My goal will be to keep hom fresh, out of danger and the right side of any splits.
On stages 4and5 i'll be allowed to try for a breakway or two.
This is a key race, to see how i'll cope with the pace of a good peloton.
One downside is the forcasted weather.
It is supposed to rain on most days, and this will make my job even more important to keep Juan safe.
I'm looking forward to the race, and will speak again after Stage 1.
