Did anyone else ever experience, that the AI teams start a race with too few riders in their teams?
For example:
Criterium Internaitonal requires exactly 8 riders in the team. However...
Leopard starts the race with only 1 rider
Astana starts with only 4 riders
Vacansoleil starts with only 4 riders
You could to that too if you would run out of riders. If you have a small team with only 17 riders and participate in 3 races at the same day, you would have to start the last race with only one rider.
You could to that too if you would run out of riders. If you have a small team with only 17 riders and participate in 3 races at the same day, you would have to start the last race with only one rider. This also applies if some of the riders are injured.
The difference is just that the AI teams would have been able to send more.
Sometimes they have still lots of potential riders without injuries or race clashes and still they have too less riders.
I can see how it would work, in case you have a small team, and therefore not enough riders to participate in 3 races on the same day.
However:
1. There is only 1 race in the calendar on that day.
2. There is a max. of 1 overlapping race (max. 2 races on same day) for the duration of the race in question.
3. These are big teams with GT riders. They have plenty for this race.
So, as roturn said:
These AI teams are clearly able to send more riders to start.
Instead they simply save some racedays for their stars this way, while sending just a few who still have a chance to win the race.
