Sudden drop of energy

Middle of a hilly stage, starting a climb, then suddenly my team leader's energy bar dissapears in a second (Chris Sorensen-saxo) and he has to struggle for the rest of the stage just to stay with the main pack. He was in top form, well protected and the stage was not particularly demanding ...but the day before he had had a crash in the last kms, so it was in fact a pretty realistic thing to happen.
I didn´t know that kind of thing could happen in the game but I think it's great  . Is it a new feature in this year's edition? has anyone else noticed something something similar? |

Never have seen that the bar goes empty that fast.
But that riders can have an injury after a crash and have problems to follow in the next days was already in older PCM`s. |

That feature has been there for years, but a red cross used to appear next to the rider's name when he was in that condition (that is, when the rider is injured, but not enough to abandon, Ã la Evans in the 2010 Tour de France).

i have the same on alp, between the final 3th and 2nd km, i lose red so fast, even if i put effort on 70% |

I don't think I've ever had this. Does it happen when the rider is "Injured (fit to race)" on the rider information because I've never picked an injured rider for a race?

No, that's the thing. The rider was not injured -at least not visibly in the info screen, and nothing else indicated that he could be affected by the crash the day before - so when it happened the whole thing was a big WTF!  Not that i dislike it, I think it gives the game a great realistic edge |

The red can disappear suddenly. Especially if the rider is riding on his limit for a longer time. Or a rider in the breakaway is attacking for every KoM, then he will suffer in the end.
I thought you meant the green bar disappearing immediately. |

I played the remaining 2 stages of the race and the energy drops still happened, although not so dramatically as the first time. Right now Sorensen is my weakest rider in the race team.
I checked the weekly save on that race and i found Sorensen had a "12" in the column for "fitness handicap" - only a handful of riders in the database had values in that column (ranging from 5 to 12) while the vast majority had "0" value. So I guess that means Sorensen is gonna be able to race but in pretty useless form during 12 days. Actually, I think it is quite realistic as a hidden feature - so if your rider crashes, watch out for a possible decrease in performance over the next days  |
