Hello
I'm coming here to announce my new project - a 1981 Historical DB. As you knoe, several projects failed before this, but I am plenty of determination now, have much more knowledge and patience, and learnt to work with new tools, so I think this project can turn into a real thing.
I have no great ambitions, the first thing is to put the skeleton of the DB working. Only after that I'll think about stages, calendar changes (if possible,....). The DB will have all 1981 Pro teams, free agents (junior riders, real birthday regions, equipment,... - only if it works well), and some selections, as there were OPEN races, so I am thinking about including slections from the following countries:
- Great Britain (there were several small teams)
- Portugal (I am Portuguese, but as there were only semi-Pro teams, I am thinking about including a selection in first instance)
- East Germany
- Czechoslovakia
- Switzerland
- Austria
- Poland
- USSR
- Yugoslavia
- Romenia
- Bulgaria
- USA
- Australia
- Canada.
I'll inform you about the progress and I'lkl post here my questions. Please, all suggestions and critics are welcome. |

There's the so-called skeleton of the DB - I have the right teams and riders, but I am still putting the amateur ones and considering to put some more amateur teams and selections, so I've left some vacant places (I've used PCM Daily 2011 as base DB). So, what you think?
