My first year in SaxoBank and managing the spanish national team- planned the season for Contador to race in the World Championship - both TT and route. No problems selecting him for the TT but then...he refused my invitation for the route race!
This had never happened to me (with one of my own riders) in previous editions of the game. The decision from the AI doesn´t make any sense - in the race date he would have been in top form and having raced less than 60 days
It can happen sometimes, Boasson Hagen has refused to ride the WC TT three years in a row while I've managed the Norwegian National Team. Kinda annoying, but it can happen.
It´s not the AI that makes that decision, there´s a number in the DB
When open your savegame go to DYN_cyclist and set gene_i_selected_nat and gene_i_selected_nat_itt to the number the other participants have and he should be in your line-up. Just kick out any other rider you´ve chosen before.
The part i´m not sure about: when you set fkIDstate_roster to "3" he should not refuse the offer anymore and you don´t have to make the changes ine gene_i_selected_...

Many thanks for the tip! The editing did it just fine. The fkIDstate_roster was already "3" so no connection there but at least I can now force the bastard to race with a bit of editing if he refuses again next year
