I as playing the Paris-Nice where I won 3 stages because my rider is good and in superior form. But on the second last day, on the mountain stage he crashes in the start while the peloton rides quickly.
He gets up and still have the same energy as many other of my riders, but then he starts losing energy really fast on the hills even though he is way better than the others.
He looses 10 minutes and the yellow jersey. The next day he again looses + 5 minutes without having crashed and my worse riders all sit in front.
Could he be injured? Cause it didn't say so in his rider page. In the previous versions it usually said something like "Injured (still racing)". |

Yep, he is injured. In older versions of the game a red cross used to appear next to the rider name during the race, but for some weird reason that was removed.

Yeah, it should say Injured (But Fit To Race)
I'm not sure why it doesn't say that, but he must be injured if he's losing so much time, either that or his form has dropped because of his fall! |

The form didn't drop.
I think it used to drop when it said Injured (fit to race). Now it didn't.
The day after the crash I made a Contador like attack as a response to the time loss. I attacked with several riders, but of course they got caught, but as mentioned he still ended up way behind the other riders he attacked with. With much higher stats. |

Yes, I miss this cross that used to be there.
As a side anecdote, I had two riders fall multiple times during the Paris-Nice. After about the third fall from each of them, I decided that they should no longer be subjected to this torture so I made them abandon. |

perhaps i have missed this somewhere on the forum so apologies if i have...but to get a rider to abandon, that would be before/after the stage and not during the stage yeah?

no.. during the stage.. simply put the rider on solo effort, or the dot whatever you call it, set effort to 0 and the rider will abandon. |

It's also possible for the AI to continue, yes. |
