Acqua et Sapone
gilles23
After some technical problems with PCM, I will restart story-writing. I chose the team Acqua et Sapone because I wanted to play with a small team but I really liked this year's Giro d'Italia route so I wanted to play the giro to. That's why I chose this team.
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/AquaTeam.jpg
This is the roster of the team.
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/AquaRoster.jpg
As you can see, our best rider is Stefano Garzelli. He won the Giro in 2000, already 11 years ago but he still can compete like he proved last year with his overall victory in Tirreno Adriatico and his victory on the Kronplatz ITT in the Giro. His goals for this year are a top 10 in the Giro and some Italian Classics in the end of the season.
Danilo Napolitano is the best sprinter in our team. He joined us this winter after some seasons with Katusha, there he showed his speed in a lot of sprints but he didn't have much victories. This year he will try to compete for a stage win and the points jersey in the Giro.

We have two sponsors for the upcoming season; Aqua et Sapone will be our main sponser. Our second sponsor is Mokambo. Those two companies also gave us some goals to reach.

Some nice goals, we should be able to reach most of them, espescially those in Italian races.

The schedule for January and February are known.

Codol will not go for GC because his shape isn't that good yet but Napolitano is the strongest sprinter together with Kittel so a stage win is a goal.

Tour de San Luis: stage 1

A flat stage. We will try to win with Napolitano.

The team did a very good jop reeling in the breakaway and Napolitano was feeling good but with 5 km to go, he lost the wheel of Kittel and the Skil-train.
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/SanLuis11-1.jpg
A very good lead-out by Skil. To good, Kittel cant follow Veelers.
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/Sanluis13-1.jpg
Galdos comming out of Kittel's wheel and trying to take Veelers. Can he do it?
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/Sanluis14-1.jpg
No, victory today is for Lead-out Veelers
Veelers first. Impey second. Galdos third.

Tour de San Luis: stage 2

A flat stage with a finish on a small hill. No special goals for our team.

i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/sanluis21-1.jpg
Pantano, coming out of the BotD, is leading on the last small climb. He will win today but he lost time yesterday so he wont fight for GC. Scheirlinckx and Trofimov are the two best riders out of the pack. Scherilinckx is the new leader. Also a very surprising sixth place by Fabio Taborre.

Tour de San Luis: stage 3

A flat stage. The team will work for Danilo Napolitano.

The team did it great again today. They reeled in the breakaway and now Napolitano is in a very good position. He follows Taborre who is two places behind the train for Boeckmans.
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/sanluis31-1.jpg
Forster accelerates with 1 km to go. Taborre and Napolitano follow. Riccio is also coming fast on the left. Napolitano has to make sure there is still enough space to pass them.
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/sanluis32-1.jpg
There wasn't. Riccio wins, Forster second, Boeckmans third.
Napolitano and Taborre 4th and 5th. This has to be done better.

Winner: Benat Intxausti

Tour de San Luis: stage 5

A flat stage with finish on a tough 8 km hill.

Proni got in today's break and he is very lucky cause noboby is chasing in the pack.
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/sanluis51.jpg
They fight for the win but Proni isn't in top shape and Javier Moreno is also in the group. He wins easily and takes the leader's jersey. Proni finishes fourth.
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/sanluis52.jpg

Tour de San Luis: stage 6

A tougher hilly stage with a large climb 15 km from the finish and finish on a very tough last km.
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/sanluis61.jpg
Danilo Diluca won. He rode away from the pack with Trofimov and Intxausti on the long climb and beated them on the last km. Intxausti is the new leader.

Tour de San Luis: stage 7

The break, with no one from our team, fights for today's victory. Jones from Healthcare wins. He can think his other teammate in the break.

Overal results
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/sanluisresults.jpg

No stage win for us but some nice results for not so famous riders as Taborre and Proni so we can be happy with our first race this season

Corioni
Marzoli
Masciarelli
Ciavatta
Taborre
Donati

i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/calabra0.jpg

Three hilly stages. Codol will try to get a top 5 and maybe Napolitano can wih the last stage in a sprint.

gilles23
Giro della Calabria: stage 1

Codol will try to follow the best today.

Liquigas (Sagan) and Lampre (Bole) tried to reel in the breakaway but at the start of the last hill (5km), the break still has a chance. Codol is feeling very strong today.
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/calabria11.jpg
That's why he and Taborre do a hard pace.
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/calabria12.jpg
Codol's pace is very hard. Only Sagan can follow. Still some riders from the break in front of them.
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/calabria13.jpg
Belletti wins.Popkov sencond. Sagan and Codol came to late. They're third and fourth.

gilles23
Giro della Calabria: stage 2

Another hilly stage with a large hill at 15 km of the finish and the last km is also very steep. Codol will try to follow Sagan.

Lampre reeled in the break very early. Codol was feeling very strong again so on the long climb, Marzoli made a high pace. A small leading group was formed and they would fight for the win.
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/calabria21.jpg
Petrov tries to escape out of this group but Marzoli reels him back in.
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/calabria22.jpg
Sagan is the strongest on the last km. Codol second. Bole Third. Also a very strong ride by Marzoli. He is fourth.

Giro della Calabria: stage 3

A hilly stage but the last hill is more than 50 km from the finish. Hopefully Napolitano survives this hill and can he fight for the win.

Noboby dangerous in the break so Lampre and Liquigas let them go. We tried to reel them back in but on the tough hill, we couldn't do a high pace cause otherwise Napolitano couldn't follow. The break fights for the win today.
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/calabria31.jpg

January overview

Two races in January for our team. Some good results in San Luis with Taborre and Proni but no victory for Napolitano. We did it very well in the Giro della Calabria with some top 5's in stages and the second and fourth place in the GC with Codol and Taborre.

Overview:
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/Aquajan.jpg

i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/Aquajan2.jpg
Best placed rider from our team is Massimo Codol at 21

i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/aquajan3.jpg
Our team is 18th in the CQ-ranking, before some UWT-teams. Not bad.

G.P. Costa degli Etruschi

Napolitano is one of the big favourites in this one day classic. We will work for him today and we hope on our first win of the season.

Today's break cruising true a wood.
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/laig2.jpg
Farnese Vini has a lot of faith in Oscar Gatto. They reel in the breakaway.
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/laig3.jpg
They also make a train for Gatto. Napolitano is some places behind in the wheel of Corioni.
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/laig4.jpg
Sagan made an early accelaration and is leading but Napolitano is closing fast on the left.
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/laig5.jpg
He comes to late. Sagan wins. Napolitano second. Sczawinski third.

Trofeo Laigueglia

i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/costa6.jpg

A tough hilly course. Codol hasn't raced for two weeks so his form isn't top anymore. He will try to compete but I don't think he has a good chance.

With 40 km to go, a large group with favourites was formed. Codol is the only rider from our team in there. Petrov from Astana is still 4 minutes in front of this group.
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/costa1.jpg
On the last hill (25 km to go), Codol can't follow the large group anymore.
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/costa2.jpg
Petrov still has a nice gap over the favourites. Without mechanical problems, he wins today.
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/costa3.jpg
Katusha is trying to bring Petrov back for Rodriguez.
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/costa4.jpg
Petrov takes a nice and well deserved victory. Bole is second. Rodriguez third.

Giro de Sardegna: stage 2

A hilly stage. We will try to get in the breakaway for some KoM-points and make sure Codol doesn't lose time on the favourites.

Masciarelli got in the break. He won the first KoM-points but he didn't get any points in the second sprint. No one in the pack bothered taking the break back so they could fight for the win.
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/sardegna11.jpg
On the last hill, Masciarelli is doing a hard pace.
