Game activations limit

Quick question on the game activations limit. Where it's supposedly/officially '3', I have used up two on recent PC death and rebuilding a new machine so I have one official activation left. If I need to uninstall and do a fresh install of PCM11 to install the PCM.daily EPV1 I'll be down to '0'. Ergo, I'm curious if others have hit the limit and know if it's something Cyanide actually enforces or if there's a workaround, etc?
Any help appreciated. |

I hit the limit last week and emailed Cyanide, told them my serial and they re-activated it 3 more times

if you uninstall the game and install it does that count as 1 of your activisions,is that how it works. |

If you uninstall the correct way then it gives you back your activation

Ah that's good to know. I lost it twice due to hard drive failure and then reinstallation/restore of W7. If I get the activation back by uninstalling it then that solves the problem. The extra activations all the moreso. Thanks for the info. |

There is much wrong info in this thread. You don't get back un activation.
But if you uninstall the game without deactivating it, you can install it again without having to activate. But only on the same computer and only if you did not restore you Windows.
During the uninstall, it asks you if you want to deactivate, don't do it.
During the installtion, it asks you if you want to reactivate, don't do it. |

thanks for the clarification. I can confirm that a HD death and a reinstallation of windows from scratch used up two of my activations. I'll keep the receipt in a safe place so if I need to contact Cyanide to obtain more activations I shouldn't have a problem (I assume). Rather a poor licensing system, unfortunately. |
