The Estonian Cycling Project
gilles23
Welcome everyone,

My name is Gilles and here follows the story of my own cycling team. I started the team together with Jaan Kirsipuu. You all know him from his victories and 6 days of wearing the yellow jersey in the Tour de France in the end of the 1990's. He decided he wants to end his racing career and become a team manager. And with a couple of young talented Estonian riders, he started a Estonian team with me. Jaan will ride until the end of April and after that, he will help me in leading the team.

The team is started with support from the Estonian government but is still looking for a big (Estonian) company to give his name to the team. The roster will be announced soon.

Practical info:
Version: Pro Cycling Manager 2011
Patch: 1.0.4.4
DB: PCM.daily's Expansion Pack V1
Progression: 0.5
Financial Difficulty: Normal
Race Difficulty: Extreme

The team consists of most young Estonian riders and is of course leaded by ex-Cofidis rider Rein Taaramae. Mandri, Kangert, Kriit all have experience in the Pro-Tour. Kirsipuu is our Road-Captain and has the most experience in the whole peloton. The rest are young talents and maybe one of them can become a future great.
i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/estonian-1.jpg

The goal of the team in the first season is to establish ourself as a strong, talented team and get some nice results. Our main goal is Paris-Nice with Taaramae.
We will ride mainly in France. This is the schedule for the first two months of the season.

Tour de San Luis: Stage 1

A flat stage which will most likely end in a mass sprint.

i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/SanLuis11.jpg
The BotD at the KoM sprint. 1. Kochetkov 2. Matheou 3. De Negri

i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/SanLuis12.jpg
The break gets caught, mass sprint. Both Kirsipuu and Taaramae are good positioned but Kirsipuu has already lost a lot of energy and he loses contact

i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/SanLuis13.jpg
Van Staeyen is leading with 900 m to go but Mondory is coming fast on the left.

i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l493/Gilles_Vanloock/SanLuis14.jpg
Mondory wins easily, Taaramae surprisingly second, Van Staeyen third.

Jaan lost a lot of energy because of the hard wind and was to tired in the end. But thanks to that wind, Rein could place himself very good in the sprint and take some boni-seconds.
