I was just wondering how I could use the training stages through the year. Should I just use them for the big rounds only? How do you guys use them? |

Are you are talking about the training camps?
In this forum these camps are considered doping because they give your riders an unfair advantage over the other riders. |

Yes, but you are the only one using it, the AI doesn't. |

no, it's not a joke
We are MANY people who don't like training camps, because they give your riders a unrealistic form boost. (Like doping)

It's true that everyone does that sort of thing in real life but in the game it's just another feature that Cyanide put in at some point and hasn't bothered or been able to make it actually good. When I used some training camps (probably in some 08 version of pcm or so) they even gave +3 or +4 to the stat it was for if I remember correctly and that just doesn't make sense at all when the AI doesn't use them.
If only Cyanide could make it so that training camps are a part of the training schedule of a rider and they may help (or destroy) the building of fitness for the rider. Currently they are just giving the human player an advantage over the AI teams if used. |

Okay, but when do you use them? How many days before the actual race? |

It is kind of annoying how when this type of thread is started the questions are rarely answered. They are always immediately accused of cheating. They can do what they want in their own career. |

He asked how we use the camps and we answered that we don't use them and why. |

I used the wrong wording. Also, now that I reread that post I realize I sound like one of the people that cries about one small bug in the database that probably took thousands of hours to make. But this brings up a few questions.
Is there anything else in the game that the AI does not have to deal with, like rider morale? Does the AI get to use energy gel in a race? I'm just wondering because there are probably a lot of differences between what the User/AI can do.

The AI teams don't have a budget. They do not use preparation or trainings camps. They don't buy equipment. They don't scout for young riders (but find them anyway). They don't get emails (but are able to apply for the Pro races somehow).
I never checked if the moral of the AI riders will change during the career, but you can see it easily if you open a save.
Nobody can tell what the AI riders do during the race, because you cannot analyse it.

You didn't use the word cheating, but you did use the word dope. What means cheating. But anyway, I didn't realize I'd start such a discussion. |
