I Recon it would be nice if PCM11 had the names of the towns as you approach them like in real life hehe im sick of going thru towns and not haveing a clue where i am hehe just a thought .
You know like when your watching the TDF and see those towns they go thru would be nice to play the game and say hey this is that town i seen on the tv in the TDF

i think that would be good
or the names of the climbs (or cobbled sections too)
like, the riders are travelling through the troue'e d'arneberg (would be good for noobs like me) - although i do know that the trouee is 90km from the finish |

i like the idea as well. id prefer more detail on the mountains first i.e. letting you know what gradients are ahead of you, as opposed to only the gradient displayed as you ride

If I'm not mistaken you could see the name of the climb you were on in PCM09. |

not talking about name of the climb. what im referring to is say you are climbing and it is saying 6% and you have 3km to the finish; it would be very handy to know what the gradient is up ahead. this would help attacking etc

Yes but this will not be very realistic. In a race the cyclists may look at the course the day before but cannot see exactly what comes up ahead during the race. It is fine how it is IMO. Just take your luck on attacking |

yeah i hear ya to an extent. but in fact the cyclists do know what is ahead in terms of gradient. profiles state the % at different sections. it splits the climbs up into portions...i.e. on letour etc

In real life the manager has the possibility to print out the profiles of the climbs and take them with him in the car. You are playing as the manager in this game, so YES, it would be realistic.
And NO, a clever manager would never have their riders attack on luck. For example Contador had all his attacks well planned before in this year's TdF.
At the moment you have no possibility to look at the profiles of the mountains in the career but you can if when playing a season. So it is already in the game and Cyanide would only have to add it to the career and to the 3D. |

ive never played season mode to be honest. i hear ya in terms of the manager role. as my point was and you backed me up - if you have an OK climber and you are thinking about attacking with the hill at 6% - that would be prob useless if the hill gets to 10% say just as you go to attack

You can press the space bar and look at the profile. You can zoom in using the mouse wheel and try to figure out the steepness according to the color, it is not very good but you should get an impression anyhow. |
