Hi,
Does anyone know how it is decided which continental teams are promoted to the pro tour?
Also how does the game decide which teams who get wild-cards to a specific race (that it one of my objectives with Wiesenhoff).
Thanx in advance.

The system works like it did "before". The top two of the Continental Ranking are promoted, the two worst teams of the Pro Tour are relegated. |

The 2 best teams at the end of a ContinentalTour season will be allowed to the ProTour.
I'm not sure about wild cards. If you perform well, meaning if you are the best Continental team you usually wind up in most races.
However, when I played with Wiesenhof I was not allowed to take part in the Giro and a few other races (Ronde van Vlaanderen, Volta Ciclista a Catalunya) - so I guess luck is decisive, too.

Thanx for your help.
@Pana I got a wild-card for runde van flandern too which is quite nice when You have wesemann in your sqauad. I Believe a wild card for Deutschland tour would not be difficult to achieve. I am way ahead in the continental league
@Crue You have written the career guide, right? If you have have , you are right that it is too easy to get promoted form the continental league.
I play with the RSM-DB 2007 and i believe that Wiesenhof is by far the best continental team to play with. In addition I have signed Jasche, yet another sprinter and Bridge from Australia - what a continental team!
I play on hard and are just crusing through. It is much more fun to play with a continental team. No riders has programme, which makes it easier and more free to play. So for it would take to much time to sum up all my achievements, since I have got 15 "5-smileys" in the middle of april. And tons of other smileys.
My best results so far:
5 stage wins in tour de langkawi.
won benidorn valencia.
2nd in ronde van flandern.
And lots more.
Damn it ended a bit off-topic. I am just happy to perform well

Unfortunately, I didn't write the Career Guide. A guy called Ciborium wrote it, but since it's one of the best articles ever written for (P)CM I felt that I had to publish it here too ;) |

Nice job Gardner. I tried Wiesenhof on Hard mode using PCM Spain 2006 and I could do nothing with them. The best sprinter was Radochla who was only iffy (I think his sprint/acc were 75ish) and Sieberg's stats were awful. There was another guy. . . Trampusch or something who was a fair GC rider. But I would be riding training races in February with these guys and I couldn't even finish in the main bunch on a flat stage. The riders were quite weak so I gave up and went to Milram. Maybe I should try another Continental team. |

@cmfos
In the RSM 2007-DB wiesonhoff is much better.
Pollack has 79 in sprint and as I remember two mure guys with above 75 in sprint.
Also Wesemann is good. 79 in cobblestones and 75 in hill. That is some continental team! So my success is understandable bearing this in mind.

Of course they are better in the RSM News DB - it's a German team, and it's a German database |

Well, I'm not sure about Pollack but Wesemann deserves it, judging by what he accomplished last year.

Yah, Wesemann is a great rider and Pollack is excellent as well. Wiesenhof must have made some good acquistions this year although they lost Sieberg to Milram and Ciolek to T-Mobile. I should get off my lazy butt and download one of the 2007 databases so I can stay current! |

Rasmu89 has released yet another patch for his DB. I think I'm going to give him a chance after so much effort he's put into that project. Installing it on my 2nd PC now...

I believe that the home country of your Continental team influences selection. Therefore, if you're Wiesenhof (a German squad) you may be passed up in favour of some Italian teams even though you may be higher ranked. However, obviously when you're a German team, you're got a better chance to get wild cards to for eg. the Deutschland Tour. |

Well I managed all my five goals - And for the next year the sponsor has almost trippled the teams budget. Very nice.
The new goals are difficult to achieve:
Finish 5th in fleche wallone
finish in top 10 in the giro
win a stage in the giro
wear the yellow for one day in the tour
The last one I cannot remember
The best signings for the next year are Davis, Ciolek and Bossen hagen.
Since my team is a based on sprinters, jasche and bridge I will have more difficulties achieving my goals for the following season.
Also I now have five riders with an overwhelming program. Damn it.
Well off we go to 2008.
