Bike configuration
jvermij
I read somewhere that the bike configuration for TT races doesn't really matter. It's all the same for flat, hills and climb.

Is that also true for normal races? And if so, why would anyone buy the expensive gear? If not true, what are the best bike setups for Northern Classics? My specialists never win there

It is true, it does not matter.
And it's very easy to tell why somebody would buy the expensive stuff: They don't know.

Now I know Wink But that makes the 'management' part a whole lot less interesting Sad

No, it does not make it less interesting. Or do you consider it interesting to save money for that very expensive stuff? I would call that lame and boring.

It would not be realistic anyway, pro teams have bike sponsors and equipment is equal somehow.

But if you really have problems with it, then assume that I lied to you and spend money on the bikes.
