I was just in a game until I got disconnected for some reason, now I try to sign back in and it says "This profile is already connected". When it clearly isn't as I am not online.

You just have to wait a few minutes. If you lose internet and get disconnected, it sometimes takes a few minutes for PCM to realise and log you out of the online lobby
