xflyinghighx stages - Driedaagse van West-Vlaanderen 2012
xflyinghighx
Hello,

This is my first post on this forum. As i was waiting for a good database to play a career, I decieded to create a Tour de France variant. I had some experience with the stage editor of last years PCM. But this is the first time I release something of my work. So any feedback or advice would be appreciated. I tried to make the slopes of the mountains as realistic as possible. Nevertheless there are three stages (stage 7, 10, and 17), where the game tells me that there are maximum slopes of over 20% and even over 30%. But i could not find those slopes in the editor or while testing those stages in game. So i think it is either a bug or those slopes are very short that it does not have an efffect in game. If somebody finds those slopes, just tell me. So i can fix them.

Here is the route:
Stage 1: Boulogne-sur-Mer ITT 8km hilly
img228.imageshack.us/img228/161/stage1r.jpg
This Tour starts with a prologue in Boulogne-sur-Mer at the Atlantic Coast. right at the beginning is a 4th categorie climb which shoulod make this stage very intersting and less predictable.

Stage 2: Boulogne-sur-Mer - Bailleul 190km flat
img62.imageshack.us/img62/5305/stage2m.jpg
The second stage starts in Boulogne-sur-Mer and finishes in Bailleul right at the border to belgium. There are quite a few small climbs in this stage. Nevertheless the sprinters should be able to stay in the peloton. But a good puncheur could use the last three cllimbs in French Flanders to get aaway from the punch for a break away win.

Stage 3: Dunkerque - Oudenaarde 165km flat with cobbles
img508.imageshack.us/img508/6369/stage3z.jpg
The third stage starts in Dunkerque and finsihes in Oudenaarde in Belgium. This stage travels the roads of Gent - Wevelgem and of the Ronde Van Vlaanderen. The first three cobbled sectors should not make a difference as they are tooo far away from the finish line. But the last three sectors (Kwaremont, Taaienberg and Eikenberg) are in the last kilometers of the race. The favourites should be careful.

Stage 4: Gent - Caudry 174km flat with cobbles
img714.imageshack.us/img714/4951/stage4oh.jpg
The fourth stage starts in Gent in Belgium and finishes in Caudry. There a seven cobbled sectors in this stage. The first two are the two final climbs of the Ronde van Vlaanderen (Muur van Geraardsbergen and Bosberg). After the Tour is back in France again, there are 5 sectors left. This five sectors are well known from Paris - Roubaix with the last one with just 6 kilometres left. The riders who want to win the tour should watch out.

Stage 5: Laon - Verdun 181km flat
img841.imageshack.us/img841/153/stage5u.jpg
The fith stage starts in Leon and finishes in Verdun. With just one minor climb early in the stage this should be a stage for the sprinters.

Stage 6: Metz - Strasbourg 169km flat
img51.imageshack.us/img51/7301/stage6f.jpg
The sixth stage starts in Metz and finishes in Starsbourg. There is no major difficulty in this stage. This should be anotther one for the sprinters.

Stage 7: Marckolsheim - Guebwiller 198km hilly
img814.imageshack.us/img814/4199/stage7.jpg
This stage starts in Marcklosheim and finishes in Guebwiller. Right after the start the peloton crosses the Rhine and visits Germany. There are two difficult climbs in the Black Forest before the peloton is back in France. The deciding factor of this stage should be the Grand Ballon in the Vosges Mountains.

Stage 8: Montbeliard - Saint-Semin-du-Plain 210km flat
img28.imageshack.us/img28/2162/stage8.jpg
The eigth stage starts in Montbleliard and finsihes in Saint-Semin-du-Plain. The longest stage of this tour is flat for the most part. In the end there is a short but steep climb which should make the finish intersting.

Stage 9: Le Creusot - Lyon 159km flat
img163.imageshack.us/img163/8669/stage9.jpg
The ninth stage starts in Le Creusot and finishes in Lyon. The last stage before the Tour visits the Alpes is made for the sprinters.

Stage 10: Lyon - Les Deux Alpe 196km mountain
img688.imageshack.us/img688/8273/stage10j.jpg
The tenth stage starts in Lyon and finishes in Les Deux Alpe. The first mountain stage of this Tour has two first categorie climbes: the Col du Solude and a mountain top finish in Les Deux Alpe.

Stage 11: Le Bourg-d’Oisans - Gap 175km mountain
img37.imageshack.us/img37/1525/stage11k.jpg
The eleventh stage starts in Le Bourg-d’Oisans and finsihes in Gap. There are two mountains right after the start: the Col du Lautaret and Col d'Izoard. This stage is made for a breakaway. But it is a long way from the last climb to the finish line in Gap.

Stage 12: Gap - Mont Ventoux 172km mountain
img850.imageshack.us/img850/2450/stage12.jpg
The twelfth stage starts in Gap and finishes on the Mont Ventoux. Before the peloton climbs the Mont Ventoux from Sisteron, it already has past the Montagne de Lur. The outcome of this stage will give us a good look on who is able to win the tour.

Stage 13: Avignon - Beziers 181km flat
img84.imageshack.us/img84/6236/stage13.jpg
The thirdteenth stage starts in Avgnon and finishes in Beziers. The peloton trevels along the Mediterranean Sea. There is one steep climb in Sete. The rest of the stage is flat. This should result in a mass sprint.

Stage 14: Narbonne - Ax-les-Thermes 186km flat
img851.imageshack.us/img851/6371/stage14.jpg
The fourteenth stage starts in Narbonne and finishes in Ax-les-Thermes. Although nearly the whole stage goes uphill this should be s stage for the sprinters as there is no really difficulty in this stage.

Stage 15: Ax-les-Thermes - Llivia 167km mountain
img171.imageshack.us/img171/4309/stage15.jpg
The fifteenth stage starts in Ax-les-Thermes and finishes in the Spanish exclave Llivia. This is the first of three stages in the Pyrenees. The are five climbs. The last climb ti the finish in Llivia is pretty easy compared to the other ones, Ninetheless this should be an interesting finish.

Stage 16: Tarascon-sur-Ariège - Col d’Aspin 186km mountain
img155.imageshack.us/img155/9862/stage16.jpg
The sixtheenth stage starts in Tarascon-sur-Ariège and finishes on the Col d'Aspin. This should be the hardest stage of this tour. There are sixth first or second categorie climb. The favourites should fight hard to gain some time.

Stage 17: Lannemezan - Arudy 184km mountain.
The seventeenth stage starts in Lannemezan and finsihes in Arudy. There are three climbs in this last stage in the Pyrenees including the Col du Tourmalet and the Col d’Aubisque. There is a lot of way to ride after the last climb. But maybe someone will pull out a crazy solo to gain the Yellow Jersey.

Stage 18: Pau - Alto de Jaizkibel 186km hilly
img684.imageshack.us/img684/8425/stage18.jpg
The eightteenth stage starts in Pau and finishes on the Alto de Jaizkibel in Spain. Despite of another second categorie climb at the border to Spain there should be a huge peloton going in to the last climb. The Alto de Jaizkibel is knwon from the Clasica de San Sebastian. But in this stage the tour climbs this mountain from the other side. Look out for the Basque riders trying trying to win in there home country.

Stage 19: Pasaia - San Sebastian ITT 48km hilly
img809.imageshack.us/img809/8374/stage19.jpg
The nineteenth stage starts in Pasaia in Spain and finishes in San Sebastian in Spain. This timetrial starts with a climb up to the Alto de Jaizkibel like yesterday. The riders should watch their power on this climb as there are 40 kilomtres flat left after the climb. After this stage we should know who is going to win the yellow jersey.

Stage 20: Caen - Vimoutiers 206 km hilly
img17.imageshack.us/img17/2695/stage20k.jpg
The twentieth stage starts in Caen and finishes in Vimoutiers. There are a lot of small climbs ion this stage. If the mountain jersey is not decided yet, there could be an intersting fight going on for those mountain points. The last climbs are known from the race Paris - Camembert and the finish line is on the Cote de la Huniere just outside of Vimoutiers. Maybe someone will go for the last chance to win the yellows jersey.

Stage 21: Houdan - Paris Champs-Élysées 150km flat
imageshack.us/photo/my-images/853/stage21.jpg
The last stage of the Tour is always the victory parade. But with two climbs for the mountain jersey, the intermediate sprint and the final rounds on the Champs-Élysées this should not be a boring stage.

It might be a mistake. Gap is 800km far from San Sebastian Wink

Could you re-upload the Circuit Franco-Belge race, please?

Could you also give the start cities and goal cities from the Eneco Tour 2011, please?

In general, I'd advice people to download databases rather than I have to re-upload everything all stage makers have made in the past Wink

Regarding cities, check cyclingnews.com, feltet.dk or whatever.
