I'm racing in the Tour of California with Boasson Hagen as my main sprinter. Several strong sprinters such as Degenkopf (spelling?), Sutton, Hushovd, Haedo, Henderson, etc. are also there.
I thought I would finally get to see some sprint trains other then my own (haven't seen one so far in my career). Team Sky had probably the best team suited for setting up a train; Wiggins, Flecha, Sutton, Henderson, Geraint Thomas and Michael Rogers.
I suppose you could say there where two trains; there was mine and one comprised of Hushovd, Sutton, Goss, Haedo, Degenkopfl (?) and a few more. Is there any logic behind this? Here Sky could have had a leadout with Flecha, Rogers, Wiggings, Sutton and Henderson, but they didn't. Infact neither Sky, BMC, Radioshack, HTC, Garmin etc. had a single train.
The only reason behind this that I can think of must be that they arn't in great shape, but come on! I thought they had actually implemented sprint trains and I don't think I've ever seen a better time to have one! I know that there arn't 20 trains in every stage, but after racing about 40 stages I've only seen a single train other then my own... which consisted of only two riders. Both of whom started sprinting from 3km and none of them finished in the top 20.
Have I just been unlucky or does anyone else experience a "lack" of trains?

I pretty much have trains in every stage in my career, its usually just 1 or 2 teams. ie. Garmin and HTC but they do exist. I have a screenshot in my story showing 3 trains alongside each other if you want proof.

I believe you when you say they're there, I just haven't seen it. It exists, I just haven't found it.
Kinda like the G-spot. |

What level are you playing. I play on extreme and have trains all the time from mulitple teams but the usual suspects are normally involved. |

Normal, but I can't see how that should matter? |

Just from experience when I played on easy/normal I saw less organisation and fewer trains. That might be my perception and completely wrong but was just throwing it out there as a possible reason for so many stages without one. |

Yeah, on normal there wasn't too many for me but I'm on hard now so if you're really that bothered, just try putting the difficulty up, see if that does it.

I just think it's sort of idiotic that I should have to go up a diffculty which doesn't really suit me just so enjoy an aspect of the game. which, quite frankly, is extremely rudimentary. |

No arguement from me mate. Was just letting you know from my experiences. It is possible that is how they make the game easier. For example on easy you can just put a break on a mountain with ease by going into the red, as you go up the levels there is more counter attacking and going into the red costs you. Maybe for sprints the harder it gets by creating better opositional organisation and more lead out men. |

I'm on normal and I generally get 2 or 3 sprint trains per sprint. The minor races are less organized so if you are playing as a minor continental team I can see why you aren't getting them. |
