Hey guys! I've just got to my hotel room after the first stage of Tour of Australia. It was a sprint stage, and I was the third last rider in our sprint train. We were going for Henderson this stage. But our train got boxed in early, and we never got out. Here is a picture of me behind Arvesen Leading out Swift and Henderson:
In the end it was a battle to the line between Rojas and Goss. After they crossed the line Goss celebrated. But after the photofinish it was clear that Rojas had won the stage! Here is Goss celebrating what he thought was his first victory of the year:
Hope to hear from you guys! As always: stay tuned! |

Hey guys!
Today our plan was the same as yesterday, but today we took early control of the peloton.
When we came closer to the finish, our train formed. But suddenly Swift had a puncture and Henderson was left a long way from the train! He managed to get back on my wheel, but then our train was already in a bad position... In the end he managed to get an OK 7th place. Boonen was unbeatable today and took the victory in front of Greipel and the home favorite Graeme Brown.
Stay tuned! |

What about the cobbled classics, surely he has a big role there?

Hi, Brewers!
Of course I'm going to help Flecha in the cobbled classics! Although I'm not going to be in top form at the time! It's my fault forgetting them!

Hey guys!
Todays stage was a lot tougher than yesterday! In the end we had to climb a hill three times! My task today was to attack in the end if I had the legs to do it. Therefore I positioned myself in the front of the peleton after we had ridden half of the stage. Hunt, Henderson and Hayman did the pace.
Here is me in front of the peloton, at the left you can see Boonen in his orange leaders jersey.
As it got clearer that my legs didn't respond as well as I had hoped for, we decided that Lövkvist was going to attack. When there was around 7 kilometres to go, he launched a powerful attack. He caught up to the two breakaway riders, who fell of almost immediately. In the pack L.L.Sanchez attacked and broke free. He rode past the Swede, who had no chance of following. In the end it was an easy win for the Spaniard! He won in front of his fellow countryman Rojas and a little surprising: Giampaolo Cheula!
I finished in the bunch as 23rd.
Stay tuned for more!

Hey guys!
Today we managed to slip Matt Hayman into the break!
They were caught around 25 kilometres from the finish. Greg Henderson reported fantastic legs, as we prepared for the sprint. With some kilometres to go, our train looked fantastic! Arvesen-Me-Swift-Henderson
As Rojas went on the left side with 100 metres to go, Henderson went on the right side. It was a fight to the line, but in the end Greg was the strongest, and Team Sky's first victory of the season was a fact!
I'm going for dinner now! What do you guys think of todays stage?
Stay tuned for more.
Geraint.

I use the stats from the official realease, but I think I buffed Thomas' mountain stat to 70, and Voeckler's to 76 or something

Hey guys!
Today it was time for the toughest stage of this Tour of Australia. Willunga hill two times in the end of the stage. Our plan today was to help Kurt Asle Arvesen to victory. Hayman got into the break again with Daniel Oss. At around the half way mark I had a puncture! Luckily the speed in the pack was low, so I got back up easily.
Here is Hayman and Oss on Willunga:
They had almost four minutes to the peloton when they hit Willunga for the second time! Hayman lost contact with Oss one kilometer from the top.
Since Hayman lost contact I got a chance to try my legs!
Than a gigantic crash took place in the pack! Several riders, including Haussler, Benatti and race leader L.L.Sanchez! I got caught by Movistar right afterwards... Because of my failed attack, I had to pace the 30 rider group including our own Henderson who was fit for fight in a sprint! But no one could do anything with Oss today.
Henderson got the 3rd place behing Matt Goss.
Rojas took the leaders jersey today. Henderson is 3rd.
Stay tuned!
Geraint.

Hey guys! Today was the last stage of the Tour of Australia! a 96 kilometres long criteritum in Adelaide was on the menu. We found out that if Henderson won the stage, with Rojas and Goss outside the podium, he would win the GC!
Again our leadout was perfect, and I lauched out from the slipstream of Arvesen with 300 metres to go!
Swift made Henderson in need to only be in the wind for 100 metres but Greipel and Rojas came fast on the left! It came to a photofinish!
Henderson won his second stage in front of Greipel and Rojas! This made Rojas take the GC by two seconds...
Well I'm on my way home guys! What do you guys think of this Tour of Australia? Stay tuned for more!

Hey guys!
It's been a week since the last update now. In the meantime I've been at home training with some teammates.
And now to some good news! Possoni won a stage in the Giro de Calabria and Eddie won the GP de Marseille!
I wont race anything untill the end of the month where I'll race a couple of cobbled races!
As always stay tuned! If there is anything you are wondering about me, the team or anything just ask!
Geraint.

Hey guys!
Today I raced Gent-Lokeren! I was there to help Flecha get his second victory of the season after his stage win in Vuelta cicilista a Mallorca.
A big breakaway formed early in the stage with no sky riders. With 100 kilometres to go the break was almost caught and Offredo and Sy.Chavanel attacked! Me, Arvesen and Hayman had to go up front and pace...
They were caught shortly after. Then a split in the peloton left some favorites behind: Langeveld, Boom and Veelers! I had to do the pace again to try and keep them away, but there was no use, they caught back up...
With 30 kilometres to go, I was set to protect Flecha as our riders would pace over the last cobbled sections.
With eight kilometres left to Lokeren Ballan launched a strong attack! Flecha followed with ease, but Cancellara pulled the pack back to them.
In the sprint Boonen got a huge lead, but the veteran Hincapie caught up and took a great win!
Boonen took second, Gilbert third. Flecha ended 7th. Really dissapointing day for the team...
Stay tuned!
Geraint.

Hey guys! Today was the second stage of Tirreno Adriatico after a decent time trial from our team (+~30sec). Today was a relatively flat stage, but a couple of tough hills in the second half could shake things up a bit.Edvald Boasson Hagen was our captain for the day.
I tried to get into an early break, but the peloton would not let me go. Cancellara and Gasparotto tried an attack in the second hill of the day. After Possoni was finished I had to protect Eddy on the same hill. With 20 kilometres to go Ballan, Scarponi, van de Walle, Visconti, Eisel and Nocentini tried an attack.
But with Garmin doing the pace, they had no chance. Me, Arvesen and EBH were in the 50 man strong pack. With 7 kilometres to the finish line World champion Hushovd made a strong attack! But also he was caught shortly after his attack. With 600 metres to go Giampaolo Cheula opened a long sprint. With 250 metres left Eddy had yo answer but he couldn't catch the strong italian! He finished second in front of Greg van Avermaet.
I'm now second in the youth classification, behind Boasson Hagen!
Stay tuned for more!
Geraint.

Thank you, Gilles!
I'll ask the sports director about that! Since Rogers and Lövkvist were dropped today, maybe we can go for it!
Hope you will follow my blog further on!
