What do you think of the "solid" riders?

How would you rate the new "solid" rider models?

The biggest improvement in this years edition was by far the new "solid" riders. A good number two was probably the change of sponsors.

Now that most people have had some experience with it, what do you think? Has it been implemented in a good way or are the some things you would change?

Personally I like it alot. The only problem I have however is that when creating a sprint train and when one rider is done, he just stops and sometimes that breaks up the rest of my team. Also, if a breakaway is caught close to the finish, they'll sometimes just fall back into the pack like a plow and split everything. This is also true if you have a rider of your own in the break.

What would happen if Tony Martin suddenly slammed on the brakes right infront of Renshaw and Cav? He'd be kicked out of the team before he could get to the finishline.

I think they need to improve the AI so that it moves to the side in these situations instead of acting like a plow and ruining everything, even for their own team.

You are absolutely right. The sprint arrivals can be a pain. Sometimes the riders block each other. In these moments I want two buttons to tell my rider to go left or right.

Additionally I would like to see that riders are going through the peloton more actively. I mean if the peloton is running at normal speed, it should be very easy for a rider to drop to the back or get to the front, but in this game a rider can be stuck. I would like to see him using his "elbows" to get a free passage.

I agree completely with what you are saying about moving through the field. I think that the AI rider should maybe move a bit to the side to allow you to get to the other side with water.

I mean, have you ever seen a team actively blocking a rider from getting water to his teammates? They should maybe implement a "gentleman-stat" Wink

I don't like the new feature because it is so badly implemented.
Like Lachi says, it is hard to get from the back to the front of the peloton. The peloton also seems to be very long as only ~5 riders ride next to each other, and the space between the riders are big.

Also, several times I have had a rider in 2nd or 3rd position in the peloton being blocked from counterattacking because he couldn't overtake the rider in front of him. It should take a few seconds for him to do, but he shouldn't just stand in attack mode until the other attackers get away.

So it is too poorly implemented for me to like it

Maybe my post suggested differently, but I like the new feature. I like the fact that I have to pay attention about the position of my riders.

I was watching the TdF stage today, and in the final climb Contador and Fränk got dropped because the rider in front of Conta was not able to follow. So they had to overtake and rush back to the front. In PCM2010 this cannot happen because they would have run through him. In PCM2011 your rider could lose contact in such a situation, so you have to watch out at special locations like when the road narrows or on top the climb.

I agree with u guys its a neccesary feature but how can i influence where my rider drives on teh left or the right side of the peloton?
Thats something missing so u can get more influencce on this.
MAybe there should be an abilitiy called tactical understanding or something like that

but i guess it would be hard to put into the game
